Hey guys, I have some checkering files, and just yesterday realized they are the perfect tool for roughing up the underside of handles pre-epoxy.

Before, i'd drill some holes and rough it up with a 50 grit belt. Now all i do is grab my three-cut checkering file and go to town. Roughest surface i've been able to get and easy to apply. I now do the same with my tangs, as well, using a broken file to put deep, horrid scratches in every possible direction on the tang, which epoxy likes to grab onto.

Just thought i'd throw it out there....i still suck at checkering too much to show any work i've done, but the files are at least coming in handy!
