Took my ESEE6 factory sheath mounted to the Molle backing and added the molle clips to the front of sheath to add a Maxpedition Janus extension pouch and added the leg strap from my 5

Great conversion. Like the front mount idea to attach a bag, I imagine you can exchange it with other pouches to allow for similar set ups. You seem to be able to get a good amount of gear in there too. Whats the dimensions on the Janus pouch?

Thanks for sharing.

The JANUS is a two-faced pocket, one side features loop fields for ID patches while the other side has PALS webbing to accept modular accessories. An adjustable and removable strap allows user to decide which side should face forward and whether the opening points to the left or right. The JANUS splices into 2” shoulder straps or waist straps using compatible quick release buckle components, providing additional storage for most customers or elongating a fully extended shoulder/waist strap for larger folks. The extension strap can also be completely removed and used independently of the pouch. The pouch too can be used independently by modular attachment to PALS webbing using a pair of long Tac-Ties(also with either side facing outwards, opening left or right).

Main: 8” x 4” x 1.5” with internal dividers and elastic loops, dual zipper opening
Extension strap range: max 13”, min 8”
Empty weight: 8.4oz (with strap)

of course I removed the strap.

Tin is a fishing kit with ranger band holding secure w/folding razor blade to clean fish.
in Texas there are so many ponds ,creeks, water ways & lakes to me a PSK needs to have a Fishing kit in my State.

Thats sweet. I have a janus as well and that pouch can hold a sh**load.
I never thought of mounting that way, thats really cool!

That looks really good Tony, it looks like it might easily become heavy if you fill the Janus pouch too much but it's certainly a very interesting concept

that's an awesome little pouch. been thinking of using to same idea on the pocket of the Jumbo on my RC4 and maybe an FR1

I am really glad they come with these clips. I like them compared to different carry methods. Quick, easy, and secure. They are great. Cool idea for more capability.

I do not think it is to heavy and with thte added leg strap really helps.
Great pouch...very versatile
thanks

The clips are pretty cool, as long as you don't attach them to anything too thick. I had a small psk in a maxpedition barnacle attached to my belt, which is leather, and after only a few minutes it was gone. I found it soon after but no matter what I tried I was unable to make the clips stay closed. Not a big deal at the time but had I actually been in a situation where I needed the gear in that pack I would have been SOL. Just something to ponder on.

was you using the clips to hold the Barnacle on a leather belt ?
their not Designed to be sandwiched between something thick ,I think you were misusing the Molle clips ?
if you mount clip via screw to a sheath and use the molle clips thru molle loops on barnacle or and molle pouch you should be fine

I use a single small MOLLE Lock on the back of my Maxp. cell phone holster instead of the crummy steel clip it came with (chewed up my belts) and it has NO problem clipping even to a fairly thick L.L. Bean bison leather belt I have. I'm wearing it now in fact. The MOLLE Lock will bend slightly as a result, but it bounces right back after a night off the belt.

The locks have to be the best answer to versatile MOLLE integration--It's fast enough to make it easy to reconfigure your pack, the ability to clip to a belt without sliding it on makes all of the pouches on your pack belt-compatible, and the bond is incredibly secure so you don't need to be constantly worrying about losing your gear.

Sweet set up Tony!!! I'm gonna have to take some of my extra pouches and try matching them up with some of my ESEE's.

I also have a Khaki Canteen pouch with draw string closure I think it is maxpedition not sure ....I can swap it out in place of the Janus pouch and talk about options ...hold more gear but then I'd hafta make a sling for it...

Very nice set up. This is what I was looking for. Read a post about ESEE's pouch and liked it but was not enough for my (I like full versions of Survival gear not just last ditch small ones) needs.

Nice setup...

I'll be showing mine in less than a week... Still putting it together :D

I am getting very nice Ideas here... thanks...

I really enjoy threads with pictures :D

i've been working on a b.o.b. for a couple days, used a molle clip to attatch my buck 110, in its nylon pouch, to the outside of my pack. also got a cold steel machete clipped on at the belt loop, and lashed on farther down the sheath.

these clips are making themselves useful!
