Another what would you like to see in a special run from Buck knives thread!

what would you like to see in a special run from Buck knives ?

I'd like to see 301's from the custom shop.
Upgraded fit and finish.
Choice of blade alloys.
Choice of scales.

It would be killer.

I would like to have an Odyssey, D2 steel, no serrations, paperstone scales. Oh , and flat ground all the way to the spine.

The plum paperstone drop point 110 was a BCCI project from 2010. 125 of these were made (they arrived in the black "limited edition" box along with a black leather snap sheath). They were unusual on many fronts, however, the lack of "S30V" etching on the blade caused a certificate of authenticity to be issued to owners in order that owners be able to document this knife's blade steel as the years roll bye (or fly bye like shot from a gun in my case). You ordered ahead of production and waited. I wonder if BCCI has any spares remaining in inventory???
My knife is perfect on all fronts. I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you kindly BCCI and Buck, WTG.

I use one of these almost every day now. It's lighter weight than my Sambar Stag S30V 110's, and I'm not afraid to use it a lot since I have two backups. I almost gave one to a friend, but I let her try my user first, and it wasn't the right thing for her, so I still have a user, a collection piece and one whose fate is yet to be decided.

I'd like to see a slimmed up (1/2" thick), CNCed 560 with a 6-4 Ti open frame handle, pocket clip, a thumb stud, CPM S125V blade, and an Axis lock ala McHenry and Williams.

Hi knarfeng,

WTG Mike! Those clever fellows at BCCI have cornered the rare & cool Buck knife treasures. You visit their table at a show and the spread of rich wonderful cutlery is amazing and irresistable. What a terrific club.

Good for you seaplane.

The club knife. OK. Something to look forward to.

I'm turning 50 this year and it seems like I've been waiting all my adult life for Buck to make a carbon steel 110. I don't mind if they coat it for rust but for me that's not needed. 1095, O-1, 52100, whatever.

They have done some of the best stainless steels on the market, and done them very , very well. 110's in BG42 are in my top 5 knives ever made category, so I'm not complaining about Buck. I just still like carbon steels. D2 is too common, and too ( almost) stainless for me to get excited about.

I'll keep waiting. :)

I like the looks of your English Mastiff. DM

Thanks. His name is Finn and he is "the mastiff"". He's laying on the floor next to my feet as we speak. He pretty much has to keep me close where he can see me to be satisfied that all is well. With a 36" neck I had to get a belt maker/leather worker to make his collar as they don't make factory collars that big.

He's the most loyal and best family I've ever had. :)

Joe
