Another "Which Folder?"

You bet, cynick23.

First of all, we have a New Jersey Knife Collectors Association, which generally meets the third Sunday of the month at 13:00 in Clark, NJ. It's an association, not a club, no dues, no obligations. Show up and you're one of us. Write or call ahead or post a request for some kind of knives and someone will bring a bunch of them to show you. We've had displays of Bark Rivers and MicroTechs and Daltons and CRKs that dealers would envy. We've had dealers and knifemakers show up. There's a link in my sig line.

Second, depending on how far you are from here, we can get together and you can see my many CRKs and one lone Strider SnG. But this is Morris County, which is not next door unless you come up this way on business.

Third, even from Monmouth, you can get into NYC for the knife shows, but that's only twice a year. The East Coast Custom Knife Show is February 16-17-18.

I love Seddies - structurally impecable , great performers . The Small makes a better EDC , tha large ( at least in the all Ti format ) is too slick in the hand for hard use . Even with micarta or other inserts , I cant see it getting grippy enuff for hard use .

The ZT is nice , but I'm not overly fond of assisted openers , good as they are - just one more thing to fail . A manual ZT would be very nice at an attractive pricepoint ,

The Strider SNG-SMF line are grippy as in a hard use situation , and are pretty tuff , once the edge has been tuned to your spec , the flatground blade profile makes a good cutter , and is very tuff .

I actually found the Micarta inserts made it very grippy, much more so than the wood.

Sebenzas. "unsubstantial"? Wow.

Solidest knife on the market. ALL metal. Precision fit & finish.

I was searching for the right word to describe how narrow the knife feels in my hand. Its good that you defend your investments and feel that they are the solidest knife on the market. I just happen to disagree.

 Feeling that for the money there are alot better choices on the market than Strider or Sebenza. This is a minority dissenting opinion on this forum but I feel the same about Busse and the magic associated there as well. For the money you can get a knife just as good and have some left over for dinner, a good rucksak and the movies.

Manix, Military, Skirmish, Ruckus all do the same job, just as good for the money.

Chef, I'm not disagreeing that there are other GREAT knives out there, including knives that work better for many people than the Sebenza. :)

The Bump is a ti framelock with an awesome grip. So is the Skirmish. I was just reacting to "unsubstantial", which to me means "flimsy".

As of yesterday, the most comfortable handled knife I now own is my new AG Russell Strikeforce.

I am astonished at the fit and finish.

VERY light and VERY comfy.
:)

If money wasn't the object and you could buy anything you want, I would suggest a Strider GB.

If you were looking for a first rate knife at a reasonable price, the ZT 0301 would be the way to go.

Both can be employed for hard-use, and the manufacturers' warranties behind them are an added assurance for usage.

Just my 2 cents worth. :D

Esav , I've come to have a lot of respect for your opinion on cutlery related stuff . I think I'll check out what TNK has in the way of Sebbies with canvas micarta inserts . I like the way Sebbies are competent performers without screaming "Tactical" .

Great thing about a Sebbie , if it isn't your cup of tea , selling is no problem .
