this piece has me very upset

Because it's not mine :)

This is a piece that was inspired from the incredible piece that David made for me

Mine was an incredible sword

It looks like this

And performs like this

So with this incredible sword in mind blade patron Mike Walton commissioned a similar piece from David

All are different but the big difference on this one is that it's Cable Damascus which here in lies the problem ..... I love well done Cable Damascus :)

So here are some WIP pics of what I know is going to turn out to be an epic blade

Bro you are too sick!!

There is just something about the Japanese sword (nihon to) that I have always found a true work of art. There is something about say, a historic Japanese Katana. Compared to historic Chinese or Korean swords that tried to copy the Katana don't look exactly right.

This sword does an excellent job getting the shape right. Those Chinese and Korean copies though historical and contemporary the curvature is often abit funny looking.

Thank you, Joe, for posting these WIP photos. Very appreciated. I’m very excited to have this one coming my way.

As anyone who has seen and handled his work knows, in my humble opinion, David’s skill set, artistic interpretation, and deep knowledge, make for an overall package that, to me, represents the culmination of the natural evolutionary process - it belongs and fits as perfectly as any integral part of our world, and as in nature, is beautiful, and capable of being wickedly efficient. Maybe a bit too cosmic of an explanation for some, but then what do you expect from someone who grew up in California.

And you will get to play with this one, Joe. :D In the near future, it will be on its way to Coop, for photos, then heading in your direction. Mike

Amazing work....I'm gazing at my Mirabile Waki as I type....congratulations!!! :)

Another stickied Thread saved in my KnifeStuff browser file folder. So many wonderful knives that I have saved from this sight. All i can say is I appreciate so many knife makers and their skills. I feel like Matthew, David's work really makes me want to try some of his techniques just to see if i can make something 1000th as well as he does, just to challenge myself.

Yeah, great stuff.

This piece discombobulates my cingulate gyrus and spins my hypothalamus into a tizzy.
