Last week my buddy Mikkel and I built 2 machines...one each. This is mine. It sports a 2.2KW motor and will have a variable speed drive as soon as I get it hooked up. The wheel on it now is a 12". It have changeable toolbars which have a 12" flatplaten for tapering, 10" wheel, 4" wheel and small wheel attachment. It also have a few different toolrests where one is angle adjustable.

In the background is the older "Anso grindermaster" that will now be set up for hogging.

Hey Jens,

Great looking machine! Your machines have always inspired me.

Thanks for posting!

Sincerely,

:)

Thanks guys...and Rob:....without your help and inspiration this would not have been possible!

Nice work Jens! Very stable and sturdy looking. Where did you get your 12" wheel? A 12" or 14" wheel is hopefully in my future, starting now to put sources together. Have you always ground on the 12" wheel? Thanks for sharing, and keep up the inspiration!

I got the 12" wheel from a local "wheelmaker"....it happens that he only lives a few miles from me. He makes ALOT of wheel mostly for the various grindermaking companies around the country.

I have so far only used my 10" wheel which I think is a very good wheel for just about anything...I am getting the 12" so I am able to take the grindlines up on thinner stock......even though its only 2" bigger it seems very impressive. A good advise when you are preparing for your new grinder is to go BIG. used 1/2" stock on everything except the tooling arms which is 1/4" stock but in 2" tubings so they are very sturdy...on this type of machine you need the thickness and weight to keep it still.

Jens nice grinder ! I went to your site and you make very nice knives, they are just beautiful.

Nice grinders, Jens! Do you sit or stand when you grind? I'm trying to get an idea how tall they are.

I sit while grinding....the new one is about 2" taler than the old on (at the centerline at the wheel....which is about 90 cm I think..thats about 35.5"

I'm considering changing my grinders to sit-downs too. Again, thanks, Jens. Nice work!
