Anti E&E Kit?

I heard someone say if they were lost they would just burn down the entire forest. I LOLed.

It got me thinking though...who would want a small signal fire!

Just curious, but if you know what sorts of things you'd want in this hypothetical kit, what's stopping you from just putting one together yourself?

Nothing is stopping me and I do have many of these elements/items in my own kit.

However, this thread wasn't about me. I was never asking Jeff or Mike to build me a personal specialized kit. I was wondering if they have ever considered or would consider putting together a kit like this for those who don't face the possibilities of E&E situations but could face the more likely chance of getting lost or hurt. And for those who still think "what is the point of putting together this kit & selling it;" I ask what is the point of putting together the E&E wallet and selling it? After all that too could just be put together by an individual instead of buying one that is pre-packaged. What is the point really of any company putting together any kind of "Kit" and selling it...that's right to make money. That's all this thread was about, it was just a thought for another product for ESEE to produce that would put a good quality USA (or mostly USA) made product out there and make them some more money.

This is a valuable thread. I've a buddy with his wife and two small kids who are basically stuck in Yamagata, Japan. It is a real SHTF moment. No one has gas for cars to get to the bigger cities, it would be a week long hike to walk to Tokyo (which is normally a four hour drive), and their supplies are slowly going.

I'd pool resources, siphon gas, load up the most economical car and jet back to Tokyo's NRT as fast as possible.

Actually, with the crush to Tokyo - maybe going to Niigata Airport and flying to Seoul is smarter?

What would you do?

Its a tragic thing that is happening over there but not sure if that really fits into the discussion of this thread. Unless you are talking about ways or objects for stranded survivors to signal their location to rescue teams.

Ah I see to me that would be covered in more of a general survival kit/skills. For me the whole point was a kit/objects to help you in getting found if you are lost.

I can't see a good route to get to working port or airport. Seems trains aren't running.

one must step outside their routine comfort zone in order to survive in the woods, or survive in the streets. One must be prepared to be wet, smelly, upset, confused, fearful, alone etc as they try to survive in the woods. As for urban survival, one must be street savvy, situationally aware, ready to flee or fight, depending on the situ...... One must be prepared to listen to the gagging sighs and smell of fear and sweat as they choke the life out an attacker, or plunge a knife deep into them and not gag as they are coated in their attackers blood.

One must have the WILL TO LIVE , and be prepared to do horrible things in order to do so.

HOW BADLY DO YOU WANT TO LIVE? and WHAT will you do to LIVE? In order to live or protect people you love, how far are you willing to go?

Main reason we put together the E&E kit is there's just not a lot out there already in kit form like there is for a survival kit. The E&E kit is specialized and simply doesn't work in kit format. It reuqires practice with the tools, pre-staging the tools, etc. Most of the tools have to conform to that, whereas a survival kit can be worn openly, be noticebale, have bigger and better tools, etc. Lot of that stuff already on the market in kit format. In fact, we have that in kit format with our Basic Survival kit.

The funny thing is I saw a reply to a review that was done our our E&E kit (can't remember where) and the poster basically stated that it was a gimmicky survival kit and better components could be found for survival kits. In other words, the person who posted this was a complete idiot and never really understood the use of the kit.

I said all that to say this: there are plenty of anti-E&E kits on the market. There are very few E&E kits on the market.
