Anti scale for plate quenching stainless?

Is this feasible for something like AEB-L? I would assume maybe there is a maximum temp rating for anti scale? Since I don't really see anyone do this it likely isn't but I was curious.

Thanks!

Use foil. Anti-scale is used on carbon steels to prevent scale. Stainless steels need foil.

ATP-641 is the only anti scale coating I've found that is rated for a high enough temperature. I use it to oil quench stainless. I haven't tried it with plates. May or may not work great. Foil seems better for plate quenching because it is a flat smooth surface. The coating does not dry that flat so the surface contact would be less. Foil also keeps the steel cleaner with way less chance of missed spots and pitting.

If you try atp with plates post and let us know how it works. It sure is cheaper than foil.
