Hello

I purchased this Katana at Blunderbuss Antiques in London a few years ago.

The seller told me it was from the 1750s but i have never confirmed this

I am not expert enough to take the handle apart, so no pictures of the Tang...

If you know anyone in NYC who is sufficnetly expert to take it apart and get it back together I would be willing to get it done

Judging by the red and black saya it's almost certainly Edo period. Pictures of the nakago and mei would be appreciated. You simply pop-out the menuki-ana pin in the middle of the tsuka (handle), then remove the handle by pulling it down off the nakago. You shouldn't even need to remove the tsuba or habaki but if you do just be sure you remember which direction they go back on.
