Antique Market Scores

Mad? On the contrary, it gives me something to hunt. This furlough might kill me otherwise. I'm 52 and have never been out of work a day when I didn't know when I'd return.

that case whaler is the bee's knees holy cow! i am very jealous of that, you scored bigtime. Congrats on the finds sir!

Everyone seems to love the Whaler! It's my favorite as well. The bail is a bit too large and annoying but it's supposed to be that way. I'll deal with it, it's an awesome knife.

I'll probably go back to Virginia sometime in the next year or so, and i'll try to pick up another Whaler or two. Anyone that wants one, PM or email me now. Only three people are illegible though, only three Whalers left!

(Disclaimer: the snap or "talk" on the remaining Whalers are pretty weak, keep that in mind)

Love the last Western, I just found one of the same model actually. I'd describe it as a Muskrat pen of sorts. Is it 3.5" closed?

Just about. It also says "422" on the reverse tang.

Sweet, definitely the same model. I think these Westerns are an underappreciated brand.

Nice haul - and I really like the old cigar (Cuban?) box.

Unfortunately, the places I find usually have broken, poorly kempt knives dumped into a bowl or basket for $1 each. Junk, IOW. I'd love to find a place like that.

The places I find usually have broken, poorly kempt knives with a $30 price tag on them....

Nice pickup Chris! I am truly jealous! :)

Super cool! I love that whaler - one of my "grail" knives. And you found it in a flea market!? :D
Great finds, you must be tickled pink!
