Antler, car spring, and titanium!?!?

RE: the titanium.

Everything was annodized at the very end. It's hard to mirror polish titanium, but after annodizing it's worth it.

Steve
Steve I'm not being dense to be a pain; honest. Does this mean that you ground and polished everything to shape, disassembled it, annodized the Ti, and reassembled?

You just have to spell things out for some people. At your age you should should've picked that up by now! Especially having watched me for so long... ;)

Steve,
That is so, uh... "California"! :D Nice work.

Craig

hahahaha - I suppose you're right. Funny but I was probably influenced and didn't know it.

Dave,

Sorry, you're right I didn't explain it. It was all assembled, put together, finished, polished, everything. Then I sprayed the whole thing down with lots of Simple Green (Like Higgy Told me), then break cleaner.

Then I annodized.

I suppose you want me to tell you how that was done too?
;) Hmmmm, can I get a beer for the information?

Your lucky day, I don't drink anymore. Actually a forumite told me how:

A Q-tip wetted with TSP and water. Then an alligator clip on the Q-tip (don't touch the steel!!!). It's fun. It's like using those little kid paint sets. Clear water, but it makes colors.

You're telling me you painted on the annodizing?! Well that leaves me out, I never could stay in the lines... ;)

Thanks Steve, I'll buy someone else a beer in your honor. :D

Dave,

"Stay in the lines.."

Ummm you're kidding right? The guard is layers of 416 and titanium. Only the titanium colors. No staying in the lines for this kid!

Steve

Ahhh... I wondered it that was the case.

See? You really do need to spell it out. I'm not sitting here with a full laboratory of stuff to play with like some of you smart fellas. Now I think I might just have to build an annodizer. See what you've done? Added to my tools list... Thanks pal!

That is a real beauty! Oh how I love stag. Very interesting how you got the blue on there. Did I say I like it? :D

That's a winner, Steve. I love the Ti... nice to see you putting your scraps to good use! :footinmou :p

Steve

Another great piece. You've done a very nice clean design and incorporated some organic elements with the antler. I will have to accellerate my savings to keep up.

Beautiful knife! I really like your blade design, too. That's a really nifty idea and results with the Ti, too. You good, younster!

I got to get my hands on this one and take a good long look at it. I just wanted to say what a grea job Steve did on this piece. The fit and finish is great, the colored titanium has a great effect in person and she's sharp as the dickens! Great work all around Steve.
