Anvil heads up (Ny)

I live about an hour and a half from there. Is that a good deal? I do not have a forge working yet but I may one day.

100 buck's is 100 bucks its not a insane deal but its pretty damn good

you could easily sell it for the same or the same plus your gas money even in a few years

If the quality is good (flat face, clean edges, nice uniform rebound with no "dead" spots), then it's probably worth $250-$300. A quality cast steel anvil is a wonderful tool, but a crappy cast steel anvil is, well, crappy. Bring a ball bearing with you to test the rebound. If it bounces back up smartly, recovering 80% of the dropped height or more then it's worth every bit of $100 and more.

Well Put my friend ------------:D

Wulf hit it on the head...... I would not think about anything smaller than a #150. Although a 100lb real anvil is better than 100lb piece of rr iron..
