This anvil has been around since I was a kid. I never really got into forging and have not used it in a long time.

I know that this is a "FISHER & NORRIS" Anvil, I'm just not sure of the weight. I think that it is a 125lb? ..The edges show some chipping in various areas.... The horn shows normal use... The hardy and pritchel are still tight and crisp, not oblong or worn out... Marked on the front ledge of the base "FISHER" and above that is the patent info ect. . The face is nice and hard and the anvil has excellent rebound.... Measurements as follows ;

Overall L - 23-1/4"

Face L - 14"

Face W- 4 1/4"

Height - 11"

Hardy - 1"

Pritchel - 3/8"

Weight - ?

Dated on the back 1881.

What's it worth?
Thanks,
Chuck

Fishers are good anvils, this one is a little beat up around the edges, normally in this shape it would probably be worth +/- $2.50/lb. I'd probably give only 250 for it if it was a 125'er, but if I had no anvil and lived in a tough area to find them in I might go up to $300. I got a good 119 lb. Peter Wright for $150 in Maui one time, where anvils are VERY few and far between. It all depends.
