I just picked this up. I cant find any name on it and I know nothing of anvils. Can anyone tell who made this type? Its 25" long overall and 4" wide on top. Height is a bit over 10"

i think it might be hay budden brooklyn ny . I can just barely make out two N's on one side. gotta be about 100lbs.

Well, they all look sort of the same. My 154# Hay Budden looks very much the same as your anvil.

Try spraying the side with a very light spray of paint and after it dries wrap a block of wood with 220 grit paper and rub across the side. It will often make reading the lettering clearer.
They have a up-curved HAY BUDDEN on the side with a down-curved BROOKLYN, NY below it. The word MANUFACTURING is in the middle between them. Below that, just above the base, is the weight mark. The two Ns are close together and look like "NN". They are often deeper than the rest of the letters for some reason.
