Is there a place to buy anvils and supplies in Florida or is online gonna be the way to go?

Craigslist is one place. I buy tools on it often.

The best way is networking. Meet other knifemakers.

Join a blacksmithing group. Lots of Blacksmiths make knives, or, have guys who are friends that do.

eBay is usually not a good place to go.

When it comes to anvils there are many good brands and no name anvils that range from several hundred years old to brand new.
The important part is rebound. Take a 1" or so steel ball and drop it from 10" onto the anvil face in various places. 7-9" is good. Look for dead spots on the face.

Fisher, Peter Wright, Trenton, Hay Budden, Kohlswa, Sodefors, Brooks, Peddinghaus, Reffinghaus, Nimba and many more are good. Vulcan anvils are hit and miss. ASO Harbor Freight "anvils" are worthless as well as the cast iron Grizzly anvils.

Hope this helps.

Brian said it well. It can take awhile to find a good anvil. As soon as you get one, they come out of the wood work. I would second what Brian said. IF you cannot find one, there is a company called Anvil Brand Shoe Company. They have what they call a AB Legend. It's a 120 lb anvil that is a good buy for a new anvil. Iihave used one, know several people who use them daily and don't have any complaints. If you find a good old anvil, it will likely be better for rebound, but having a new nice flat face with sharp edges is nice too. (the first thing is to take a flapper wheel to the edges and soften them. Leave a
sharp corner, but round to different diameters most of them ) I think that I heard that they are making a bigger one too.
There is a place called farriers depot in Ocala, fl that would have farrier anvils also, though anvil brand might bet them on price.
Best luck
