Anvil size

I can't remember how I came about that anvil photo or the story that came with it. It could be Nick Wheeler's next paper weight........
 
A good rule of thumb for the size of anvil is the 1:30 ratio. You take the largest hammer you intend to use and multiple the weight by 30. So if you have a 4 lb hammer x 30 = 120. Your anvil should weigh a minimum of 120 lbs.

Of course, with anvils size does count. The bigger the better.
