Anxiously Waiting

Thanks Yvsa. I appreciate the tips. If I glue in the whelps, then should I also water form the scabbard?

Nope, the welts seperate the front and back so that your khuk will slide in and out easily and without cutting the thread you sewed it with.

Don't know why you got the mold Andy. I'd wipe it off with a 10-1 bleach solution, 1 teaspoon of bleach to 10 teaspoons of water and don't soak it, just wipe it off and then let it air dry.
Generally you don't have to soak leather that long unless it's hellacious thick like sole leather and it's not used that much.
You also wouldn't have to wrap it in a towel, just dry the surface well after you get done what you're doing.
Wrapping it in a towel just lets it dry slower as it keeps the towel damp.:(

IIRC I have four welts on the spine side and two welts on the edge side of my special Chainpuri sheath.
It fits like it was made for it.;) :D  :o

Thanks Yvsa. What would we (I) do without you?
