I have been watching the release of this years Limited Edition Sebenzas. Only the small ones have been made available to date but as a fair period of time has passed since I spotted the first ones I am wondering - have I missed main sellers ?

What i've seen so far is;

Plaza Cutlery got three ... Amboyna, Box Elder and Redwood
New Graham got one ... Black Palm
Nordic Knives got one ... Snakewood

This is terrifically short of sixty :( Can anyone tell me if the actual supply from CRK is still to come or does some of these never come into the public arena for sale? Even so - there should be more than five.

Has anyone seen sites where other 2005 LE's are up for sale ?

The golden colored CBB is really nice, I wish I was rich like Roefisher. :( :p :p :D

My computer crashed two days ago :mad: The memory was wiped. I had a list of all my knives, including purchase dates and prices, etc and pictures - all lost :rolleyes:

Anyway, I've just seen the new knives - they are all beautiful. The ones at TNK are lovely. I have it on good authority that others will be coming, so watch out !

BTW, Dave ... :o :p

I was just emailed by a vendor that just got this large Sebbie 2005 LE today.
It's gorgeous, but I passed on this one hoping to maybe get a lighter type of wood.

The thing I don't like and don't understand about that and all the other pimpin' sebbies is why the lock-bar is not polished like the rest of the knife. It just stands out like a sore thumb to me.

The guys here who are more familiar with CRKs may know why. From talking to CRK about a knife I ordered a few weeks ago, it seems to me that they don't like touching that locking bar on the handle.

That's the first 2005 large model i've seen. I think it's Walnut Burl. That is a very nicely grained wood ... but it is very dark timber, as you say. I use my Walnut Burl every day now and find it to be a terrific user. Lighter woods definitely show off the grains and character easier which I suppose might make them more attractive in these Limited Editions.

I think that the fact that some areas of the high end Sebenzas are left unpolished is a fine feature. It adds a bit of variety to them. Don't know either if there is a technical reason for this on the lockbar, but it may be to do with the pretensioning on the lever - not sure. But I do like it :) A fully polished back would be going on for very plain looking ... just like the fully unpolished back on some ones.

Thanks for the updates, fellas.

Mark.

I think CRK should really improve the beadblast finish on the sebbies. Now don't take this the wrong way...I love Sebbies - I have two, but the bb grit is way too rough. They should really be doing a glass bblast finish on the sebbies, like in Tom Mayo's TNTs....
