I'm kinda a traditional guy and I just like wood and steel for my tools. Out of 130+ axes & hatchets I have only one that has a synthetic handle on it. There was a axe I wanted on FeeBay and the bid was for two axes. The one that came with the one I wanted was a Mexican Collins with yellow plastic like handle. The profile on this axe was also terrible. It is a ugly axe.
But I did find a use for it. I put a decent edge on it with my belt grinder and now it sits outside, next to my wood pile for our camp fire pit, 24/7, 365 days of the year. Yes, tool abuse...ask me if I care.
Now, it is time to break out the BLO for some of my wooden handled beauties.
