Any advice before I purchase from WorkSharp?

Just one more comment…
After the Work Sharp I went with a Rikon variable speed 1x30. I prefer it over the KO a bunch. For me, it is easier to use and see what I’m doing. I also believe it is easier to be consistent with my grinds as the machine never moves. I have two on my bench, one for grinding, one for stropping. (The stropping machine gets a lot more action) Stropping belts include, Zam, Autosol, 6 to 12 micron diamond, 3 to 6 micron diamond, 3 to 6 A/O, 1mu diamond, .25 diamond and pure chromium oxide. Most often it’s just the Tormek or the 3 to 6 diamond.

Also, if you have a BESS Tester you might check that DMT emulsion against Tech Diamond Tools. Emulsions are not created equal! I had been using DMT on a paper wheel and wasn’t getting the results I was expecting. I switched to Tech Diamond Tools paste and the difference was dramatic. Instantly I was getting much better BESS readings and it required far fewer passes to achieve the apex I was looking for. It is now on all strops ( except the A/O and Cr203).

But, to each his own. Happy sharpening!
Al
