Any advice for a father to be?

Thank you all so much for the tips, I think my wife and I are head and shoulders above where our parents were back in 1980. We intend on breast feeding, reading to him every night, and you're absolutely right- making the memories are far more important that the knife or object itself. I have been reminiscing a lot lately and remember some very happy times with Grampa and getting my first SAK just like his.

Out of all of my accomplishments in life - my kids are my greatest.

As others have said here - savor all the moments because one day you look at them and realize they are grown up and wonder where the time went.

Mine are 14 and 12 and it truly seems like yesterday I was in the delivery room with my wife.

Remember:

1) Patience is a virtue
2) Sleep whenever you can, wherever you can
3) Lead by example - they watch you and pick up ALL your behaviors and habits (especially the bad ones)
4) Don't forget about your significant other - try to find a little time to spend alone at some regular interval.

Best wishes.:D

Wow, there are a lot of great dads here! Lots of great ideas and advice. Parenthood is the best adventure of my life. I am so grateful that God gave me the opportunity to be a dad.

I'll add: Make sure that he sees that you love his mom.

Congratulations, and have fun!
