Any advice for attaching brass knuckle guard?

I'm finishing up an order for a 13" dagger, the customer requested a brass knuckleguard. The blade is coal forged out of a chainsaw bar. Can you solder between dissimilar metals like that?

Also any tips on what type of torch I should buy for small projects like that would be helpfull. I gotta quit borrowing Dad's mammoth one of these days.

Is the knife a full or hidden tang?

Full tang at this point, that's the only style I've made up till now. It makes finger guards a bit stickier tho.

The usual way is to make the guard long enough to wrap all the way around and attach as a butt cap. You could still do that I would think.
