i am. i shoot traditional only.![]()
Yes, some good shooting with a mechanical bow.
I shoot, and build, both traditional and primitive equipment. A wonderful hobby that gives you all sorts of excuses to be in the woods or on the target range.
A couple of my favorite trick shooters were Howard Hill (the best of the best), and Ben Pearson. I got to see Ben Pearson shoot as a very young man and was thoroughly impressed with his abilities with bow and arrow. Seems that there were few things that he couldn't hit with alarming consistency. I knew right then that archery would be a big part of my life.
I had the opportunity to shoot with trick shooter, Byron Ferguson, a few years ago. He is now a regular tv personality, and legend among traditional and modern archers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbQezcKi1pc&NR=1
Great picture's BikerMike, I'm likeing that Long Bow, Did you make that one ? That's the Style I'm looking for,
Two different bows in the pictures I made both. The bow in the top pic, is Osage backed with hickory that qualifies as a primitive bow. The bottom pic is a fiberglass over a bamboo core reflex/def lex American semi-longbow. There both about the same length, and the arrow plate is in the same place so I can shoot them the same.
