I`m looking to see if anyone is a fishing fanatic. Not just catch and release, but someone who also keeps some of their catch for eating. This is just a little survey, you will find out why at a later date. ;)

Fishing is my first love for outdoor things to do. I have been a fishing nut since I was old enough to hold a cane pole. I have made 27-28 trips up to Canada to fish and hunt Bears but mostly fish. I keep plenty of fish as the wife and I both love to eat them. I do a lot of fishing now at Devils Lake ND but have fished most all of the Missouri river Reservoirs from Montana to NE. I love to fish the Red River of the North from Fargo ND to the Canadian border. One of the best cat fisheries in NA. Lots of Channel cats from 3-7 lbs. We always get a few in the 15-20 lb Range as well. ND fishermen are Walleye nuts but I would really rather catch Pike or Catfish.

You better believe it. We live 100 feet from the river and 3 miles from the beach. She is more of a fisherman than me too.
If you're thinking of making a fillet knife...:thumbup::thumbup::D

Not anymore.

But ... when I was just a tad, mud between my toes, yes. Very much so.

My grand-dad taught me. Now HE was a fisherman. He could catch his limit in a little old pond out behind the mill. He could pull 70 pound sturgeon out of the Sacramento and 20 pound steelhead out of the San Joaquin. Wasn't anything that swam he couldn't catch. We ate them all ...

I miss that old man. Every day.

I am but not very good at it !

Are ya planning on making that Bird & Trout you made a regular in your line up ?
That was my favourite knife that I have seen you do so far !!!

Fishing is what drives me to the outdoors. I've been fishing my entire life and prefer freshwater fishing. When freshwater fishing I am strictly catch and release, but will keep fish from the bay and ocean close to me.

The fresh water around me isn't as clean as it is elsewhere in the country.

Fishing is my thing. I go for all speices, rivers , lakes. Have a canoe, two man bass boat, and large bassboat.

I've got a 16' Jon boat that I use quite often but my favorite way to fish is off of one of my kayaks. It's very peaceful and I love sitting so low in the water.

I fish a lot. I supply my church with 250 pound of fillets every year for a fish fry in the park.

I concur. I had a canvas kayak once. Talk about quiet.

You better believe it. I release more than I keep, but I always bring some home for the plate.

When will we find out about your survey?

I'm more catch and release, but there is always the one that doesn't get away.

Not for nuthin', but I need to upgrade my fillet knife....

Here are some pics that knifemaker richard j here on the forums sent me.

It was my favorite also. One of us should have snatched it.
