I recently got a 551 Griptilian. I love the way it flips and feels in the hand. My question is two fold. Do all Axis Lock Benchmades flip like the Griptilian? And does Benchmade have a thinner Axis Lock knife that still feels good in the hand?

Second down from the top.

Benchmade 530

It comes in all blade flavors. Plain, serrated coated or not.

It's very thin and light. It's my hiking knife.

My 943 is slim and feels fantastic in my hand. It's fairly new to me, so I haven't used it for really extended periods yet.

Yeah the 530 is thin to the point that the axis and stud lugs feel like a completely different animal to other BMs I've handled. I believe the whole thing is under 2 oz. too. The best part is that it's not even a small knife.

I'd try to handle one before buying if possible though. Some people have difficulty with the studs according to reviewers in vids I've watched. Feels great in hand to me though.

Awesome! I would have done it, but I'm lazy. And yeah the 530 is crazy thin.

The 960 (which is disco'd), is 0.368", just under the 530, but had aluminum scales with G10 inserts (and weighed only 2.26 ounces). It has a much more solid feeling than the 530.

Man how did they fit inserts? I'm gonna have to look that up, sounds cool. I still can't get over how big but lightweight (under 2oz) the 530 is. I may have to pick one up!

940/943, 707, I edc the 707 and am looking to get a 943, thin and pocket friendly are my main concerns with an EDC blade. I bought a Griptilian as my first Benchmade/quality knife, but it was a little thick for me in the pocket. I then bought the 707 and am very happy with the size.
