Any axis lock thinner then the Griptilian?

Many choices for thin axis knives, I personally love the 710. As for the action when opening/closing, the full liner knives (like the 710) seem to flip superbly compared to the others. Not that the others don't flip well!

940, 960, 770, 530 off the top of my head, are all thinner. The 530 is probably the thinnest of the thin. The 770 is awesome because it has a little shrunken down axis lock, it's the only one like that I'm aware of. As for a really thin and light knife with a lot of blade length for its size, check out the 940. And just a little shorter but a little thinner, check out the 960.

The 707 is pretty slim

Yes, and even more so if you take the clip off, and is incredibly comfortable in the hand without the clip, it is comfortable as is, but without the clip it is that much better for me. That slimness makes it really nice to just drop in the pocket too.

The 94X series is very thin. Not just thin at its thickest parts, but the sloped contours of the handles make it feel and carry even thinner.

Not all AXIS lock knives work like your Griptilian. Some are spring assisted. If you want to be able to flick it open and closed like the Griptilian, don't get one that's assisted. Personally, I don't see the point of having an assisted AXIS lock. It's so quick to open an AXIS lock knife already, plus you can flick it closed just as quickly. Can't do that with the spring assist (or auto).

The 960 (which is disco'd), is 0.368", just under the 530, but had aluminum scales with G10 inserts (and weighed only 2.26 ounces). It has a much more solid feeling than the 530.

There is also the BM/HD 13960, which is a BM 960 with Harley Davidson logos. Disco'd too, but still available at some places. I managed to pick mine up for $85 online, which isn't bad considering it was normally around $150-180. Excellent lightweight EDC, super thin, very, very comfy, fast, and has a normal easy to use Axis Lock, unlike the 530. Also S30V steel. One of my Fav office EDC's.

Yeah, closing the spring assist Axis takes away one of the big things I like about the Axis. Being able to thumbflick it open, cut something, and easily flip it shut is so convenient when making a lot of cuts but not wanting to put down the knife. Becomes second nature really fast.
