I'll add a few when I get home.

In the meantime, here's one that I recently posted in another thread - I carried this combo for the past three days, changing up this morning.

The Gunny - I worked off as much of the striped patina as I could, and have since used it on a lot of food to even things off

Here is a shot of the Wilderness Explorer. It was meant to be the ultimate woods knife for me.... not to big and not too small.... What I learned is that with my kind of needs, it's still a big large.

Then there is is Mini Kephart that I like a lot. It is one of my favorite fixed blades and so handy. View attachment 1328683

Big bark River fan here but have found from this forum really once I'm paying over £250 for a fixed blade I may as well go full custom and get exactly what I want, still for none custom BR has some of the best options out there with that sweet as out of the box convex, nothing slices like that 4v kelphart and just love my 1.5 as well, I'll be honest never been the biggest fan of my bushcrafter as it came so thick behind the edge but love my funny hunter as well20200426_105748_compress17.jpg

I have two. A Bravo 1, and a Scagel leather handle Hunter model.
Oh oh, the Scagels yes of course, I forgot about those!
Mike Stewart is the present owner of the Scagel Brandname.
I got 1 of the Scagels from BRK:

It's about the upper size limit I would take to the Outdoors. Next level would IMO be a hatchet.
A very good Chopper for the size.

Mikael

Great performance, but a full exposed tang cause handchill in wet & cold days.
I'm more sensitive to this as I get older and nowadays I prefer hidden tangs.

I am fairly new to whittling and have been trying to research a good knife to use. I have made a few spoons and a handful of knives for my kids to play with using either my Bravo EDC, PSK EDC or Mora companion. I was looking into a BRK Tusk or Little Carver, a few Moras and possibly a Flexcut. Do you have any recommendations? I am predominantly left handed when it comes to finer detail work and have noticed some knives designed for whittling are hand specific and not interchangeable. I wouldn't be opposed to a folder that I could throw my pocket but I usually stay with fixed blades.

Like You I prefer fixed blades, but I know that many likes a traditional Whittler folding knife. GEC has made one recently and maybe that would be a choice for a folder.
For fixed blades and detail work, Mora Classic handicraft models would be my primary recommendation. Their wooden handles can be shaped to fit Your needs and they are ambidextrous already from the start. Inexpensive too!
If You want to go for more fancy models, the small BRK's will work.
The smallest BRK I own is the PSK, but I tend to take a small Mora or the Fällkniven Juni.

I like the juni too! Work well as a whittler and lots of other areas too. Also love the.flexcut.
can be had in left or right hand versions too

The Flexcut is new to me, but it looks like a useful tool.

What model is that Flexcut? It looks like it would be comfortable in the hand as long as it's not too slim. I have nerve damage in my left hand and arm and had surgery a few years ago on my wrist and elbow. I prefer more robust handles and feel they work better for me, because sometimes my fingers/arm goes numb for a few days if I overdo it.

I have to look into the Juni. Is that curly birch? I have noticed that there is a Mora for just about any task. I have purchased quite a few, but always end up giving them away to friends and family because they are reliable inexpensive knives.

The Juni has a very small handle and is basically a 3-finger grip, but it is a little jewel of a knife. The handle is indeed Curly Birch and the 3G steel hold the edge "forever". Gradually I have thinned the edge as it was rather thick out of the box.

The Mora's have large barrel handles in regular Birchwood and fills the hand well. Checking up on the Flexcut Brand shows inumerous fixed models and I think they are worth a closer look. I just noticed a store carrying them were I live and within bicycle range.:)
