Any BK 11 fans out there?

I carry mine in a similar fashion. Up front in 710 kydex. I added a blade tech strap.

If pocket carry is needed, it slips right in no problem.

Yep, I carry mine the same way on the same 5.11 belt.

I love my 11. Then I got a 14 and it took over as my EDC. I would alternate it and the 11. Then I got a Cami 11 and added some custom G10 in Camo green/ orange and tan liners made by fellow forumite, Birchwood, and thats been the end of it. It has been with me ever since. It is my fav knife with that Birchwood setup (he does amazing work BTW). Its a whole new knife. I do have to say though like Chambear, i am partial to the Camillus 11 more than the others.

I did not like the 11 when I first got it, but I will concede that it is growing on me....a little bit. I thought I would like it with a paracord wrap but found that I really didn't care to much for the feel of paracord. So, after ditching the cord, I now carry my 11 in my backpack when I'm at school and the 14 stays in the truck. But outside of school the 11 gets no love. I have used it to cut a piece of tape and open one box but other than that the blade is unused. I consider it a backup only. I just can't leave my 14 alone, I love it and will probably only sideline the 14 if I get a 24....which at this rate, is never, LOL.

For those of you who carry it often, what. Is your setup?

If I'm wearing an untucked shirt, I use a kydex sheath by Azwelke (sp?) In the scout carry position at my 12:00. Looking for a good pocket sheath so I cn carrry the 11 when I'm at work in business attire. I'm open to any suggestions.

I have a kydex sheath of my own making hanging from a lanyard around my neck. My favorite knife and my favorite way to carry day to day. Wouldn't work in business attire however.

I have an idea for you. If you don't want to spend a bunch of money on a pocket sheath, then go to goodwill/salvation army and get an old belt that is wide enough to accompany the blade, then cut it up, sew it up and bam!! a pocket sheath. That's what i did but I used a nylon belt and velcro. I carried my 11 to a restaurant with the family and the pocket sheath worked awesomely.

TD, could you give me some more specs on your sheath? How are the snap loops attached? Are they removable for pocket carry?

In my humble experience, the KSF pocket sheaths are too small for the BK11/14/24. I modded my 11, removed the finger guard and re-profiled the blade, slimming it down. Not to fit the sheath, just for my own preferences. The KSF Adirondack sheath fits much slimmer knives well, though. I made my own pocket sheath for my 11, with one side for a ceramic rod for sharpening.

I just picked one up on my trip and love it. Ive been carrying it along with my custom krein k9. Its a little more people friendly.i like how i can carry it in my pocket. However i dont like the sheath for it. I might try to make my own sheath when i get back home from my trip.

The 11 doesn't get the props it deserves. I love all my Becky's equally but none put in the work every single day like the 11. A lot of people think the handle is too small but I feel if more people actually took one out and did some cutting tasks with it they would realize it actually fits great in the hand.

my edc 11 with it's new scales. made them with black canvas micarta with 3/16 black micarta rod. I got tired of replacing the 550 cord. Been wanting to do this for a while, but work has kept me busy. Couldn't be happier!!

Never mind TD, I found an older post about 6 pages back where you explained the belt keepers.

They are. I velcro'd the end of the keepers. Looking closer you can see the hook portions underneath the end of the keepers. I will go ahead and say this; the velcro works awesome but it's really just a temporary option as the velcro will eventually wear out and need to be replaced. But for the summer its awesome. I have not tested the sheath with the 11 on the belt, but I know it will work in a pinch because this is the same setup I have been using with my 14 and stock sheath for the last 4 months. I've been wearing shorts for the last few weeks and the pockets get all the love.

LOL, I reposted anyway, cause I just skipped to the end of the threat to answer your question.

I'm a dork like that sometimes.

Thanks for the replay anyway. I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't recognize the keepers for what they were. Mine were leather for the first 15yrs, then nylon web after that. So much for observation skills........

Your approach has sparked some very plagiaristic ideas. :)

No problem. I will tell you though. This idea is an off shoot of all the scout carry leather sheaths out there on the market. My idea was not original, it was just taking advantage of the fact that I have little money, had the materials to do it, cannot sew, don't have the patience (wanting all my stuff NOW) to build something slowly over a period of time.

Sorry to the OP for the hijack. Everyone can move along...nothing to see here. Move along.

That's a familiar story. Actually TIME is probably my smallest commodity right now being the daddy of a very active 2yr old boy. Half of me can't wait until he's old enough to share dangerous hobbies with, while the other half is enjoying the heck out of this age. Either way, I'm spread too thin for projects right now. There's a saddle shop and a boot repair shop in my town. If I sketch what I want, I'm sure one of those resources can make short work of the project, and probably for cheaper than I could scrounge the leather and hardware.

My BK 11's get the most use out of the whole collection because they are a great combination of size and utility! I have 2 of them: one is stripped and customized with my own curly maple scales ( pic added) and the other is box stock including the epoxy finish with a paracord wrap for the grip. I use the factory sheaths for now, one with the TDI clip for belt carry and the other left "naked" just for neck carry. I hope to add a kydex sheath or two in the fall or maybe for Christmas. The pic attached is my first attempt at making scales and they came out looking pretty good, but I only had a large belt sander to use for shaping and it really is NOT the optimal tool for the job!
