Any Buck fans out there

A few more Bucks.

I cleaned out my first buck with a Buck Lite in the 80's. Carried it on all my outdoor adventures but lost it on a trip in New Mexico in the 90's. I have really missed that knife so I found this one on eBay. It looks exactly like my old one, minus the scars from where I dropped my old one in the garbage disposal while cleaning out a trout.

I had one of those in Boy Scouts and all through high school. I always carried it in my back pocket, but I eventually lost it while I was in college. I still miss that knife!

Whether for nostalgia, or for the high value they still offer for quality US made knives, I'd say most of us here are Buck fans.

Although I do miss the days when you could walk into any Wal-Mart and pick up a 119 up for just under $50 (as I did with this one just two years ago for an impromptu camping trip), I still think it's a helluva lot of knife for the money at current pricing.

Likewise, many of their more modern knives like the one on the left here should not be overlooked. A quality flipper, with good steel, burlap micarta, from a US manufacturer with a long-standing heritage, for $114??? I'm honestly not sure how anyone could've seen that and not picked one up.

(note: not the original finish)

Pretty much all I carry these days is a 110 or a 110LT. Inexpensive, easy to maintain, holds an edge, and easily replaceable. I’ve done everything with mine.

JSutter JSutter — did you mod the finger grooves on the custom 112? That looks sweet.
