Any Busse related new years resolutions?

Not sure how this resolution is gonna work out but I have resolved to learn more about the Busse line and all the different models. I’ve been intrigued for some time but have never fully committed. Really interested in getting both my first Busse fixed blade and folder this year. I’m sure one of each should be plenty and satisfy the curiosity….right?

Right on man, if you have questions read through the chat thread, that's where I asked my questions. You'll probably have some of the same ones I did.
Feel free to ask yours there too.
Nate

Not New Year’s, but long term Resolution. To collect at least one example of every Bussekin ever produced. And like the guy who planned to live forever said - “So far, so good.”

Can we get a teaser photo of your progress? Or a link if you have one posted elsewhere?

Just have a few random photos of nothing too exciting. Most valuable live in my bank safe deposit box. Made arrangements with a friend/photographer to take some shots when I reach a specific number of models. But we’re in no hurry. And both busy.

Realistically, my goal is a long way off. And I much prefer many blades over others. Like anyone here does. Some are not sought. While others, like the ASH1, are obtained in multiples. Apologies, Andy - you don’t get them all...;-)

It would certainly help if I were wealthy! LOL. But any jackass with money can buy a huge number of anything. Collectors know what to obtain.

Hope y’all have a good start to the new year. 2022? Sheesh. Who’da thunk it? I’m still trying to figure out the 1980’s.

Timing. The joy of being the first one to find one we’ve sought for a long while. At a fair price.

And the agony of seeing another within that same category - two minutes after someone else claims it.

Yeah thats an excellent knife
Saw one of those just up for sale a couple weeks ago.
Very ASH1 esque.

You don't happen to live in Tallahassee do you? I might be able to put some options in your hand to try out if so... :)

Good luck with that. I don't think I've ever seen a Pork Belly Skinner on the secondary market.

Although I am a huge FSU fan….I’m in the Tampa area. Appreciate the gesture for sure though sir!

There are quite a few members in the Tampa area. Any particular models you’re interested in?

Not 100% sure yet but I just came across the RAD thread - sure am sorry I missed that. The Satin RAD looks like it would be the perfect way to start my Busse journey, ah well here's to watching the exchange once they get delivered, hopefully someone will need to recoup some Christmas funds or something and list one for sale. 😆

Thanks. I also saw that PBS on the Bay. Actually looking to “fry other fish.” But I did make homemade pork tacos for dinner. No skinning necessary.

DSF; SJTAC; ASH1; SH1; SHSH2. SARSquatch (have two black Micarta. Looking for a red); and the ever elusive NARK and Ripper. Already have the ST Ripper. Appreciate those mid-sized blades. And currently trying to focus exclusively on Busse.

Have a few bigger one’s. The smaller models will possibly come later. Although a Scotch Dispenser will be claimed at the first decent opportunity. Same with a SHBA, and/or a BAe. If only I were - “made of money.”
