As a Canadian, it's difficult/expensive to get knives shipped across the border. Are there any Canadians out there?

One right here. There are stores in Canada. And since it wont cross the border the customs wont take it away if the pivot was shipped too loose.

Thats right. Friggin Onterrible. The most prohabitionist minded crap hole in North America. High power prices and a shamefully bloated government. There are roughly 11 million people living in Ontario. 1 million people in Ontario work for the government in some capacity. The Liberals are a joke.

Winnipeg, i hear ya. Getting hard to have fun in Canada, we have turned into what most of us dont want soon there gona ban the spoons. Though there are ways around it and other forums to explore buy and sell from. "Canadian gun nutz" has an extange that has some rare sharp treasures.
Canada will wake up sooner then later.... i just hope its sooner.

I don't know man Canada is becoming a country where the most idiotic liberal ideas from the states, ideas too idiotic forneven the Democrats are flourishing. Face it we live in a socialist country where the government knows whats best and decides for you. They're telling people how to raise their kids. Telling someone who is attacked it's their responsibility to ensure the criminal is not bruised too badly; forget about it if you hurt his feelings.

As someone who lives in Ontario, I heartily recommend that those who don't like it can kindly leave.
Somehow, I'm enjoying life here a bunch.
I have all the knives I can afford (more actually!), just competed in a shoot last night (I didn't win, but who cares?), and don't see the weird issues that people posting in this thread are supposedly seeing.

I've heard of Americans wanting to come here, and we seem to have some folks here who want to leave.
I propose a swap...let's both get rid of our respective whiners.

Wish i could ignore reality alas i can not, i fear my rights to own personal property are fading even faster now with a Lib government. Keep shooting ur guns as they may become a way of the past and then you will likely be the biggest whiner of all because you choose to live under a rock and not pay attention to politics....there baning our guns!!! I didnt say i dont like Canada, Im a proud Canadian and know whats happening and choose to be active about it what do you choose? Video and mtv.....
Sorry op didnt mean to derail the thread. Rant done.

Pony up for a paid membership, and you can go talk politics all you want in the correct forum. :)

As for what I choose, I choose knives. ;)

Gents, if I may, you might want to mind the politics. The S!K subforum isn't the place. I can go on a good rant myself, but it's a pretty good way to get a thread closed, or banned.

I'm not in or from Canada, so maybe you guys can just flash a beer-soaked grin, toss in a "hoser" and get away with it. (Are Bob and Doug McKenzie reference offensive? Maybe just to the liberals...)

Anyway, maybe keep it S!K related somehow. Purely a suggestion.

Back on topic we go. I managed to get a hold of 2 GSO 5.1's in CPM20CV factory seconds. A 2.7 factory second and I am waiting for a CFV 4.7 to ship. Would like to get a leather sheath made locally for the 4.7 when it arrives.

Sorry. I actually saw this one on the main page and because the title thought this was in off topic. Didn't realize it was in Survive! sub forum. I normally check things like that but forgot this time.

My bad. :foot:

On topic I really like the Survive Necker I. Has anyone tried it? How does the grip compare to say a La Griffe? I love the style of La Griffe, Le Shark and Silent Soldier type knives. Honestly though I worry a cop might see those knives and try to say they are "knuckle knives" because of some of the grips they can be held in. I feel like the Necker I cannot be held in that way, but I'm not sure. I like how the Necker I is even smaller than those previously mentioned. The Necker II is nice too, reminds me of the La Griffe but more utility oriented.

Do you guys think if I ordered a Necker I the customs agents might interpret it as a "ring with a knife or blade attatched" they are referring to a wedding ring type ring with a knife on it in the law. However sometimes the customs agents are pretty liberal with their interpretations. The Perrin and Brous knives I bought at a local store so I didn't have to worry about the border. Have any of you Canadians ordered either of the Neckers, especially #1, and can you tell me if there were any issues?

Canadian, here and I feel your pain.

PS: To all the Canadians complaining... we live in yearly voted as top 3 best countries to live in and past year or 2 we've been number 1. So, stop complaining... If you want a country where you can do anything you want w/o the government intervening... too name a few; Afghanistan, Somalia and Western Sahara.

I also was curious if a Necker or Necker 2 would be held at the border. When they come available I will order one and see what happens.

I feel like the Necker 2 probably won't be held up. I know my local shop gets the Perrins and Silent Soldiers in no problem. I especially feel that the Silent Soldier can be seen as a knuckle knife (different thana ring knife, but also illegal) I feel like the Necker I doesn't have much in the way of a grip behind the index finger ring so that quality prevents you from holding it in a way that the "tail" supports against your palm, thus it can't be seen as a knickle knife. However it is exactly this that makes me fear it will be seen as a ring knife.

Maybe your local knife store will order a Necker I for you to buy off them. My local store has had good success woth the Perrins. I'm not sure if I am allowed to tell you to e-mail me and ask me which store I mean. I know if you asked them they would order you one. If that isn't allowed then just disregard that last bit.
