• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Any cause for concern?

I recently aquired a few axe heads and after cleaning one of them up i noticed a 1/4 inch crack at the front of the eye on the top and the bottom. I think they are from the forging. Can anyone clarify this? Thanks :D Can't post attachments or I would put up some pics.

crack as in the surface finish is cracked or crack as in the metal is splitting?
If the metal is split, that axehead could likely go to the forge. If it's the finish/surface then let it be, it'll wear away.

Looks to just be the fold mark, though it seems to extend a bit more past the eye than I would personally like...

What axe head is that btw?

Yeah, I am not sure who the maker is as there are no makers marks. Its 7" long and has a bit length of 4 1/4" and im guessing it weighs about 3 to 3 1/2 pounds.
