Any chance of a larger 172?

I have a 172 and, with it's combination of light weight, ease of use, easily sharpened and long term edge holding, it is the best pocket knife I own. I simply love it. I do, however, wish that there was a larger version made for those times when I feel the need for a longer than 3" blade. Something like a 3.75" blade would be great for outdoors use. Any chance Buck and Tom are going to do a larger version of the 172?

thanks a lot, I mean it............and I agree, a few of us have been trying to get the management to make a LARGE size TNT for some time now :p  :p

I'll put my vote in for a large Buck/Mayo TNT as well. It would be nice to have something inbetween my 172 and my XL TNT to carry. Maybe I can chat with Tom and get that fixed :D (Would still buy the Buck version though, cause it's cool too ;) )

Your Welcome!!! This is seriously the best folder I own. I like axis locks a lot but I use my Buck Mayo daily. Buck Management, please, please, please make a large version. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has need of a larger version of this knife. I'd just buy the custom version if I could but that's not a realistic financial option. You folks did such an Excellent job on the small version, I know you could do a large version just as well. Thanks for listening.

Anyone from Buck want to comment on whether or not this is even on their radar for future development?

New Mayo/ Buck collaborations are being looked at now and we will be working with Tom to get a whole line going. Tom's a true artist and its a pleasure to work with him.

Our engineering guys are working overtime (as they always are) on many new projects, and they will turn them out fast when we get the details locked on.

From the Tactical side, I will be pushing for some Mayo "suit" knives that will be great for Secret Service types who wear suits and need a dressier piece of high stress gear to go with their Armanis, or an "off duty" knife for a night out on the town. A larger TNT would be perfect.

Thanks,

Josh

Thank you very much for the update Josh! Looks like I'll hold out for a future larger Buck Mayo than trying to find something else now.

Man! That would be sweet!!! I know 5 or 6 guys right around here that would be stoked to get a larger size Buck/Mayo!!!

They think {as do I } that the Buck Mayo is the sweetest production folder out there!!!

Kudos to Buck and Tom!!!!   :D

Did someone say "larger TNT"?!!!! :D  ....

please do! there are many , many, many folders in the 3.5" blade length and under catagory....(I know they sell well)

I also know there are many fans of larger folders, and I am one of them.

I am positive the Buck/Mayo LARGE TNT version would be a top seller....

and thanks folks at Buck for picking up Mr. Tom Mayo and his TNT model and producing it for the knife buying public>>> :)

OH ...one final request to the good people at BUCK knives.........please, please don't make us wait as long as Tom does for one of his custom versions :D :p

I spent alot of time at Blade thinking about this issue. I hope that Buck has taken notice of the Benchmade 630 for this reason. It is MUCH bigger and the initial run sold instantly and there are already long waiting lists for more. A large Mayo would do at least as well . . . especially if they can compete with the price range!!!!
