Any chance of a stainless Becker?

Well I know the remora is stainless but I am talking something the size of the 16 and 17. The reason I ask is because I am looking to pick up a stainless fixed blade and I almost feel guilty buying something other than a Becker because they have served me and my family so well.

It'd be sweet if there was one, it wouldn't surprise me if there was a special run of them done one day. There is that special run of s30v BK 77's they did those are awesome.

I've caught wind of some rumblings, but they've been just that. Rumblings.

I use to love stainless but honestly 1095 cro-van is not that bad at all when it comes to the elements. So long as you take care of it! I think 1095 is just like having your cake and eating it too.

For awhile there I was splitting the difference and using D2, but, it's tough to sharpen.

My BK77 is my favourite, if there was a BK16 done is S30V or S35V I would preorder it right now!

why the shit would you want a stainless Becker when there
are plenty of damn fine 1095 ones around.

Stainless provides an option that is more palatable to many of our brothers and sisters located in coastal regions, as well as some of the more "wet" areas of the world. AIG has a BK16 that went to the Amazon, and while it is fine, and works well, it definitely showed that it had been wet during the trip.

I don't want a stainless Becker, personally. Granted, I'm new to the Becker world, and I only own one at this time, so I'm not that qualified. However, part of the appeal to me is the 1095, and it does take a wicked edge.

I totally agree. The way I see it, is why would you need a stainless Becker, unless you work in a saltwater environment or you work with processing meat all day. The 1095 CV is a great value steel that performs more than admirably! IMHO, making a stainless version that could hold a candle to the steel they currently use would take them out of the realm of being great value users.

While I don't absolutely need a stainless Becker I would pick one up if they became available for when I visit home back east where I frequently contact salt water.
A stainless 17 would be perfect.

My backyard is a tidal pond, and although relatively new to the Becker world, I can already see that I am going to have some challenges with rust. I can't use each of them every day, and I pulled out my BK9 yesterday and saw a little corrosion spot. I love the value and utility of these blades, and I couldn't afford to have them all in stainless, but it sure would be a nice option for one or two of my least used blades. Then again, I'm still saving for college for the kids, so.....maybe some tweeners in 440C or 154CM? Until then, I am learning just what "rust never sleeps" really means and maybe I'll have to find a way to use some of my Beckers a little more often.

He'll yah a stainless 15 would be my ultimate fishing knife!!!
