Any chance of an Original Manix Sprint Run in Magnacut?

The C95 was my first of the more premium Spydercos back in the day. I was a lot more broke at the time so the $115 paid was a lot to me (probably 16 years ago) but I was really happy when I got that knife. I used it for all sorts of things you normally wouldn’t with a folder and it never flinched. I really like the ergonomics on the C95 and the thunk of the lock back when you open it, and it is smooth. The factory edge geometry was excellent at about .020” at the top of a 12-13 degree edge bevel. After a few years of use I had it ground back down in the .013”-.015” range if my memory serves correctly. I’d love to get a newer sprint run in Magnacut, Cruwear, 3V, 4V, or M4 at high hardness as I think those would serve well for a new C95. I also wish the edge geometry would be close to the .020” and sub 15 degrees per side range my original was, but I’d guess it would be .025” and 17 degrees per side of the newer Manix 2s I’ve bought. I’d probably just have it ground a little thinner at some point more to my liking.

I noticed they are keeping the regular military while also offering another version with a compression lock.

I wish they would do the same and bring the original Manix back and still keep the Manix XL for people that prefer that.

I'm all for another C95! My Foliage Green C95 has seen a bunch of hard use and certain things that I wouldn't use most knives for. Love it!
I have a back up, in case something were to ever happen(had a 3rd at one point, but a friend fell in love, so he owns it now)or they never make a new one. Tho I sure do wish they would!

Nothing Spyderco makes, compares to the thunk of the C95 opening. A Glorious sound!

Still hoping for this, But if it won’t happen can you please remove the unnecessary jimping from the liners on the Manix XL?

The original didnt have it or need it and I don’t understand why the XL does.

It is there to keep me from buying one. It is doing an excellent job of that.

Me too. But the Cruwear got me to go for the XL, even though I’m not a fan of smooth G10. I just miss the ergonomics from my C95 Manix, and at the price they are offering it I decided to go for it.

I've picked XLs up and put them in my basket at seconds sales several times, but even at those prices I've always thrown them back. I've carried concrete blocks that were more comfortable.

Well I hope I react better to the ergonomics, lol. The handle jimping on the Manix 2s certainly annoy me when making hard cuts without gloves. My Benchmade Contego had even worse handle jimping that I paid to have removed and it became a lot better to use. Maybe I can have someone do that on my Manix 2s and the XL at some point. I did a marathon cardboard cutting comparison between the M4, S110V, and Cruwear Manix 2s, and I do mean marathon, and got some blisters for my trouble. I prefer the grip shape and G10 to handle the gripping more than jimping on the handle. I’d be vastly happier with a true C95 Manix in Cruwear than the smooth XL, for sure.

Sal please consider bringing back the original Manix in Magnacut for a short run.
They would sell out quick!

Sal. If you won’t bring back the Original Manix’s for a small run in Magnacut will you remove the unnecessary jimping on the Manix 2’s??

I have an original Manix and its really something. Actually had TWO but sold one to a friend. Its a brute. Would love a Manix mini with the lockback. I dig lockbacks. 🤷‍♂️

St.Nicks is bringing back some oldies but Goddard's.. Maybe they will bring back the C95!!!!
I'd swap a set of Foliage Green scales on the black blade!
