I picked up my first CZ over the weekend; a P-09F Nocturne. In addition to this being my first CZ, it's also my first DA/SA pistol.

While I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, first impressions are good. The fit and finish seems to be excellent and the ergonomics seem well thought out. It is a large gun, but that doesn't really bother me as I used to carry a 1911. :)

The trigger in DA mode is about 9lbs and SA is probably 3.5lbs - 4lbs. The DA trigger pull is a bit heavy, but it's reasonably smooth. The trigger is good enough that I'll probably leave it stock.

Seems like a fantastic addition to the collection thus far.

CZ is awesome, I love their DA/SA pistols. Some of the smoothest shooting and accurate autos I've ever used.

Apparently some people describe CZ fans as hipsters, trying to be contrarian. Total nonsense, I only own one piece of flannel and hardly wear it (although I do roll up the cuffs of my jeans...).

I shot one of my friends cz75’s. In a couple idpa and ipsc matches. They are smooth, accurate and run great. I have 3 452’s. 2 in 22lr and a 17 hmr. They all shoot exceptionally good. I have a couple guys that I shoot with that have Cz 22 hornets and they are both way more accurate than my Ruger 22 hornet. I could brag on Cz all day. They are that good and I’m a Remington guy. Cz’s are consistent winners at the 22 matches at Kettle Foot rod and gun club and that’s an extremely hard place to win.

I've heard that too. Guess I'm a hipster now! :)

I'm kind of surprised that it took me this long to try one. I have pistols from all the other major manufacturers, but just never really considered CZ until seeing this one.

ive been collecting and shooting them for quite awhile now. I got a handful of them from a ss 75, 85, a kadet, po7, sp01, and a 75 compact. congrats on yours.

?

that makes little sense as czs have been popular in the usa for over 30 years in the usa....that was before hipsters or that word were even around. the few older ones around that became hipsters were listening and dancing to the backstreet boys and in grade school. seems these youngins really do know nothing......

Oh, I never thought the stereotype made sense. In fact I think it was more good-natured ribbing than anything else, akin to "Geez, why are you carrying that old hunk of steel? Why don't you use a Glock: they're newer, lighter, modular, tacticool, super-operator-friendly, etc. What are you, some kinda hipster?". I never took it as a serious phenomenon: mostly silly jokes thrown around by firearms/shooting "influencers". Anyone who has earnestly used a CZ would know better.

Nice gun, OP.

"Any CZ fans here?"

Well yes, of course ! :) (repost)

People think that because you choose something that is not mainstream, it's because you are a hipster.
its weird to me as cz has always been mainstream. the 75, 1911, old hi power, p226, glock 19 and 17..and we could add quite a few more are common all day long......

not mainstream would be things like a steyr m9 as one example......

To a large number, if it isn't a Glock or a 1911, it's not mainstream. I'm not in that "large number".

guess every generation has different takes on things...I get that. none of it matters anyways.

ive distracted from Mitchell getting his new gun.....lookin forward to his range reviews on it.

5Glock G43
6CZ-USA CZ 75
7Ruger Mark IV
8Smith & Wesson M&P9

10Armscor/RIA Rock

They don't have complete 2025 data yet, and SIG probably took a dip.

The 1911 is not heavily represented, I wouldn't call it mainstream ... maybe in 4, not sure.

Maybe overrepresented on BF due to the number of Boomers and Gen X (incl. me) we have ....

Number 4 surprises me.

CZ 75 prices were pretty good over the last few years. I'm happy to see them moving up.

wouldn't #10 be the Armscor 1911? tells me a lot folks like a cheap forged frame 1911 they can use as is or modify with custom parts. doesnt surprise me much.

when you say maybe in 4, you mean 2024....or do you mean #4 the ruger striker polymer line of pistols? im not following correctly, thanks.

Agree with you on #10. Was just wondering if #4 included Ruger 1911 clones.
