Any decent Torx driver sets for $10 or less?

The only driver that I need is the 8T but I don't think you can buy it separately. Any recommendations on a cheap but decent set $10 and under?

I've got two of these Husky sets, from Home Depot for about $6 apiece. If used with some common sense (don't over-torque; heat loc-tited screws before attempting to twist them loose), they'll do fine. I've been using mine for about ~5 years with no issues. I have a couple of larger Wiha sets as well, but the all-in-one-handle convenience of the Husky set has me reaching for it much more often. Comes with T4-T10,T15 (8 sizes in 4 double-ended bits):

Not sure if these are still in the stores, but HD still has them via their online site.

$6 will do just fine. :p I was just over at Home Depot today and I didn't see anything like that in the tool isle. I'll have to go back and look again.

That's the way to go I have had mine for many years. If you do get one pull the divider out and all the bits will fit in the handle . Can't remember who told me that but it was one of the great guys here.

That's why I mentioned checking the online site, as I hadn't seen them in the stores in a while. If you can find it, it seems to be a decent set. If not, then for the equivalent $ spent on an alternative, there's not as much risk anyway.

(The Husky set also comes with a lifetime replacement warranty as well.)

If you have a do-it-best hardware near you they sell individual drivers that are good quality. They sell sets too, but they are more than $10.

That's what I use. Fellow Davids think alike.
I randomly found it near the power tools one day and have been using it ever since.

Those Huskies are hard to find. I checked online and only 1 in stock and the store is 15 miles away.

How weird that they aren't in stores anymore. I've got one and have enjoyed using it; it's a killer value. I've got the insert pulled out of mine also so the handle holds all the bits.

I just went searching at home depot's site and found a Milwaukee 10 in 1 torx driver. It looks very solidly built and the bits store in dedicated slots in the handle. Speaking of, the handle is way bigger than the one on my Husky and should allow you to apply a lot more torque if you need to. If I lost my Husky, I'd probably by buying the Milwaukee to replace it for $15.

Lowes has a set like that, colbalt brand...it's decent, I also bought some individual drivers at sears, craftsman brand, they are really nice

I got a 5 pc. Craftsman "Mini Torx" package with individual drivers from T5-T9 for about $10 from Sears. That covers all of my knife needs so far. Anything larger my driver set has T10+.

Oversized handles are the one thing I'd shy away from, for that very reason. As small as some of the bits are, an oversized handle is a temptation to twist even harder, and broken bits or stripped ends are usually the result; much like using an oversized 'cheater bar' on a wrench will break heads off bolts. A lot of people complain about the 'cheaper' sets breaking or stripping bits, and I suspect most of the trouble is in the oversized design of many of the handles, and less in the quality of the bits themselves. It's one of the things I like about the Husky set, as it works very comfortably via a fingertip hold (if that's not strong enough to loosen a screw, that's the hint I need to heat up the loctite first). I noticed some time back, higher-end sets like Wiha typically come with more realistically-sized handles (smaller), designed to be turned in the tips of the fingers, instead of in an enclosed fist. Methinks they know something... ;)

I was needing a T5 and just picked up a Kobalt set at Lowe's for $5.98 that had a few of the small Torx and other small bits. It was located with the screwdrivers in the store.

Husky changed the design up a little and got rid of the dividers in the handle.
