Any decent Torx driver sets for $10 or less?

I've got the husky interchangeable tip set and few craftsman individuals. The craftsman ones feel better and are a little more ergonomic for me. Individuals sell for $3 I think...

No agenda beat me to the punch. The kobalt set is well made and I haven't had a torx bit bend or strip yet.

I've got two of these Husky sets, from Home Depot for about $6 apiece. If used with some common sense (don't over-torque; heat loc-tited screws before attempting to twist them loose), they'll do fine. I've been using mine for about ~5 years with no issues. I have a couple of larger Wiha sets as well, but the all-in-one-handle convenience of the Husky set has me reaching for it much more often. Comes with T4-T10,T15 (8 sizes in 4 double-ended bits):

Not sure if these are still in the stores, but HD still has them via their online site.

Lowe's has the same thing in the Kobalt brand. Also $6

I've stripped/rounded over so many of the cheap Torx bits that I refuse to buy them any more. Years ago, I invested in a couple of sets of Wiha drivers and bit and have used them ever since. They are harder and closer tolerance than the cheap chinese-made stuff.

You get what you pay for.

That's good to hear. I didn't know if any of their stores were re-stocking after depleting inventory of these. In my area, I think most/all stores have replaced them with something 'new', though I don't know if quality is the same on the newer ones.

I have both the older Husky and the Kobalt one.The Husky bits are made better, cleaner and straighter edges.

How weird that they aren't in stores anymore. I've got one and have enjoyed using it; it's a killer value. I've got the insert pulled out of mine also so the handle holds all the bits.

I just went searching at home depot's site and found a Milwaukee 10 in 1 torx driver. It looks very solidly built and the bits store in dedicated slots in the handle. Speaking of, the handle is way bigger than the one on my Husky and should allow you to apply a lot more torque if you need to. If I lost my Husky, I'd probably by buying the Milwaukee to replace it for $15.

Brian.

It depends on the region... I recently bought a set at the Merrifield , VA store and they happened to have around a dozen sets in stock at the time : http://www.homedepot.com/l/Merrifield/VA/Fairfax/22031/4605
