Any deer hunters here use a Becker for game processing?

cool, thanks, the BK14 it is then
since its either that or my benchmade 580 barrage......i don.t feel like taking it apart.

I think the 11/14 blade shape is just about perfect for skinning. However, for breaking down the animal I go with a cleaver and a semi-flexible boning knife (very old Old Hickory I rehandled).

I used my 11 quite a bit for this years harvest, with a bit of help from my ESEE-4(a tweener would have been perfect too)
The blade shape of the 11/14 really excelled as a skinner, and I had the hide off in minutes.
There is no doubt in my mind I could have used just my 11 to process the whole dear, but my stainless Mora Companion also played a big roll in quartering, and de-boning.
Next year I'll have to show my 14 some love and put away the 11 for a season.

Wow, this one is resurrected from the dead! I've been pretty comfortable with the 14 (now 24 this year) and 15 in the field. Sometimes an ESEE3 will work it's way in there, too.

Wow, I need to pay more attention to the O.P. dates.:p

Great tread anyways, glad someone brought it back to life.

as most of You know I completely gutted, skinned, and quartered my first doe with my bk16 & bk14 and my IZULA (thanks Jeff)
