Any experience of breaking a knife ?

broke an 806 blade trying to chip out some particle board
broke a cheap plastic Fury handle at the pivot
tore (no, not broke) the edge off a Tramontina cane knife trying to delimb some really hard oak

in 1983, at Sionics, i was throwing a new double edged Case Boot knife at one of the knife targets during a Class demo..second throw...knife stuck, blade snapped in half,,,you could see the bubble....embarrassing to say the least...not THE most embarrassing incident though..

that happened at the 1985 Shot Show in Atlanta...i was covering the Shot Show for Jim Morris for an Eagle magazine article,,,by the way we wrote the articles on paper back then,,,i was demonstrating drawing my butterfly knife, don't remember the make, from a horizonal belt sheath...drew the knife, flipped it...half the handle and the blade went flying as the pin holding the handle to the blade snapped and i was left holding the other half of the handle being very very red faced...even worse,,,there were pics...

God Bless

Had some noname terrible folder I got on a trip to Italy because I didn't pack a knife and needed something in a pinch. It fell apart on its own, I kid you not. The pivot was some weird thing that didn't look like it could accept any driver of any sort so I had to tighten it with my thumb. The screws found their way out of the spacers eventually.

What a waste of 13 euros. I still have the pieces though.

Broke a Buck Special cicra 1982. Found one in a forest where a mansion was being built. It was on the seat of a bull dozer. 15 minutes later I threw it at a tree and it broke off at the handle. I kept both pieces for months after wards.
