Any experience with Keith Newman / MrDamascusKnives.com?

I am considering purchasing an item made by Suchat Jangtanong (Thita Knives) from MrDamascusKnives.com. I read that this website is run by Keith Newman who is the exclusive dealer for Thita Knives.

Before I place my order, I would like to know if anybody here has had any good or bad experiences with Mr. Newman or ordering from his website. I did not find any reviews here at bladeforums, but I'm a bit concerned after a quick Google search yielded this discussion here. Does anyone know if the person running MrDamascusKnives.com is the same Keith Newman mentioned in the dispute with Frank Beltrame?

I am Keith Newman and your request to confirm that the Keith Newman addressed in your question is the same person who has the website Mr Damascus Knives. The answer is yes, however, the lenghtly discussion, ripping me a new one, is incorrect and misleading. I did stop payment on funds sent to Frank Beltrame but it was because merchandise ordered by me was not received. Now, many years after this incident it has again come up to cause me pain but I can only assure you that what I did was a business decision and I do confess that I maybe now might have handled it differently. The person who made this into so much more than it was, by constantly feeding the frenzy, with falsehoods was Brad Skipper (swinguard.com) who manipulated along with his friends that I was this horrible person. Today, please Google Brad and Susan Skipper and Swinguard.com and the truth now speaks volumes. Maybe, now this can be put to rest. I stand on my reputation of many years in this community and have many honorable and noted people I do business with. Julie Hyman Arizona Custom Knives; Corrie Schoeman; Rainy Vallotton and many others, in fact, David Strandel Mikov Knives who made the original post on the Beltrame episode was also someone I had done business with.
I am very saddened for my problem with Frank as he is unquestionably a wonderful human being, however, his daughter Sara was manipulated (I now know after the fact) by Brad Skipper while Frank was in the hospital from a heart attack which caused her not to ship to me what I had paid for.
 
I failed to note in my previous post that the matter was resolved with Frank. Josh the owner of Blade Auction handled the dispute between myself and Frank and an agreement was reached where I settled the matter with Frank for $3000. I sent Josh the funds and he forwarded them to Frank. This settlement in no way represented any guilt on my behalf but was the appropriate thing to do since Frank was in all
instances an innocent, in fact, was in the hospital when his daughter Sara failed to ship to me what I had paid for. Her conspiracy with Brad Skipper to take away my relationship with Frank obviously did
work for a minute but I see where it got her and in reality the only person that really got hurt in the end was Frank.
 
I have been a member of ebay since 2004 under mrdamascus and my feedback is 100% positive.

I have been doing business with keith for at least 8 yrs and he has never been anything but to his word.
 
Hello, I am Rainy Vallotton. I am a knife maker from Oregon. I have known Keith Newman and worked with Keith for over 6 or 7 years. We have done a bunch of business together over those years. I can vouch for his integrity and his way of doing business. I do know of the deal with Frank and I looked into it very closely before he and I started. It was a misunderstanding more then anything else and he did his best to make good on his end. I spoke to Frank briefly and he had no hard feelings of the incident that he addressed to me. Greetings, my Name is Corrie Schoeman and I am a knifemaker from South Africa. I have known Keith for many years and have also done alot of business with him for many years. I do not know how his dealings are with customers that he sells knives to. But as to his dealings with me, from day one he has been honest to the utmost. I do not take money up front for a knife and he only pays me when he receives my knife. I have NEVER waited more than 24 hours for him to deposit the money into my bank account. I have never had to ask him to pay me. Anybody that has any queries about him is welcome to contact me directly on my e-mail.

We are Thita Knives team (Suchat Jangtanong knifemaker) and we have made knives for 5 years and start selling my knives in Ebay since 2008. We have deal with many customers in Ebay and Mr.Keith (mrdamascus) is our biggest customer. He paid very quickly and easy going person. We decided to stop selling knives in Ebay and do business with Mr.Keith Newman and let him as our exclusive distributor since then. And since we have been doing business with him, he is very trusted person, honest, kindness and always offer everything for us. He paid for our knives so quickly (within 24 hour) before I ship the parcel to him. You can trust this guy as he is a true man and we respect him as our family.
 
Mr. Newman, thank you and everyone else who has replied for responding to my post. It was certainly not my intent to cause pain to anyone so I want to first apologize if bringing up the matter about Frank Beltrame has done so. Nevertheless, I do appreciate learning your side of the issue (something that was sorely missing from the discussion), and I'm very glad to hear from you and Mr. Vallotton that the matter has been settled. Your reply along with the positive testimony of the others who have posted here certainly help allay any concerns I had.
