Those look good, no doubt about that and they seem to be good/better fakes comparative to others .
They mentioned '8Cr13MoV' steel but anyone who can prove that ? Or it's just an ordinary 440 common soft steel ?
Did anyone use a lot one of those knives , are they able to hold the edge as good as the BYRDs / BM vex / CRKTs ??
Even if it's a real 8Cr13MoV steel if it's not heat treated properly it shouldn't be as good as the steel used by SPYDERCO in their BYRD knives or CRTK , right ?

Anyway , SANRENMU / BEE / ENLAN E0... seem to be 2-3 times less expensive than the similar american brands , but as I mentioned , is the steel the same ? Is the lock safe ?
As fit and finish they seem to be under the BYRDs - according to the photos - which is normally considering the price range .

They do copy lots of knives :
- 730 - kindda SKIRMISH
- 723 - BUCK NOBLEMAN/COLLEAGUE
... why that as long as it's in the same price range
- 710 - very poor man's SEBENZA
- 707 - CRKT DRIFTER G-10
- 939 - KS VAPOR
and the list can go on ....

I have a number of Sanrenmu knives, none of which are "fakes". If they market knives that look similar to other knives or appear to "copy" them, it could be because they actually manufacture those other knives as OEM.

I can't tell you that I have done a metallurgical analysis of the steel, but when needed (which isn't often) those knives sharpen just like their cousins the Tenacious, Ambitious, Resilience etc.

If you buy a Sanrenme/Bee/Enlan knife and select a good version (like the 710), you're paying maybe $10-13 for a knife that's comparable to a $25-35 knife from a US name brand. But you might also run into some fit and finish deficiencies (QC is generally good but can be inconsistent) and you will not have the warranty protection and ease of customer service that you likely would from that US name brand.

The search function is your friend...there have been several large and lively threads about Sanrenmu knives recently.

chinese made knife politics and design ripoff issues aside... are they worth the $10-$20? imo yes! i own several srm enlan land bee and ganzo knives and have not been disappointed for what i paid. try one or two, if you dont like them they would make great introductory knives for family and friends. sure as hell beats the garbage you get at the gas station.

That's hilarious O.F!

radu, save your money for a better blade, you'll get far more enjoyment out of it in the long run.

This is the best advice: give the knives a try and see what you think. If you prefer to save your money and invest in more expensive blades, that approach is fine too. I personally get more pleasure based on the value I get from a knife per dollar spent. A Cara Cara or Tenacious or Opinel can therefore make me very happy -- as can a good Sanrenmu, Bee, Enlan or Navy.

If instead only a top-quality Benchmade or Spyderco will make you happy or provide a tough enough steel for your needs, don't bother experimenting with Sanrenmu. You're not going to find a $100 (or more) value knife for $10.

Sanrenmu makes some great knives, i've owned and used the model 710 a.k.a Poor ass man's Sebenza. The Lock is safe the framelock on it is dependable. The 8Cr13Mov is RAZOR sharp out of the box, and performs like any other 8Cr13Mov IMO. And its pretty easy to re-sharpen.

The only problem i've had with the model 710 specifically is that the pocket clip is a miss IMO. I've had the knife completly fall out of my pocket once (got hooked on the edge of the table), but other than that it rides pretty low, not bad but still be on the lookout for table edge's :P

Hope i helped :)

I have 4-5 of them that I bought because I liked the designs, and all came with very nice fit and finish. I would have more if they offered them in better steels, not that 8cr13mov or 12c27 are horrible.

BTW, IIRC it was confirmed, or at least nearly so, that SMR makes the Nobleman for Buck.

i currently own 5 of those chinese knives and i must say i like them a lot.
the steel is sharp as hell and extremely easy to sharpen.
reminds me of my persistence.
as said before, don't expect having a 100$ performance on a 10$ knife but for the money they are awesome, in my opinion!
my favourites are the 710 and the EL-01:)
try one, or two, or three:D and you can try a wide variety of locks, handles, handle materials, blade shapes, you name it, and you would only spend a few bucks on this experience!

I have an enlan el-02b. it is very good, only problem is the axis lock is a little hard to use compared to a benchmade.

i have a couple on their way to me under the various sanrenmu brands to try out and see for myself first hand....rather than choosing internet sides based on political beliefs and such or expereience with one knife or one of the sub brands, etc.

all the feedback i've seen disregarding the anti-chinese anything folks.....has seemed to be summed up this way. a whole lot of bang for the buck. a bunch of the guys over at the british knife forum seem to be highly impressed, and they usually aren't easily impressed.

i'd like to see more original designs exported to the usa rather than their made for china distribution models exported as we see now....but that is the old wish in one hand and cr*p in the other and see which fills up first.

Yup, my experience exactly. It's a consistency of fit and finish thing. In fact, I have an EL-02 and EL-02B -- virtually identical but slightly difference blade finish and scales. On one, the axis lock needs 2 hands and some effort to unlock. On the other, the lock works fine (though not as smooth as a Benchmade). But then I only paid about $14.00 for each of them, so I can't complain.

Im still happy because thats the only problem i have. other then that it came very sharp, and the fit and finish is perfect.

I have a 710 that I bought to see what all the fuss was about. It was $12 to my door. I have no complaints and it is a good value.

I think that is a very good definition indeed. A very good value for 12 dollars. If you had to pay say 50 dollars for it, it would be POS.
I think it sais it all.
