I have a very used Trekker that's not locking up like it used to. I'm going to send into Victorinox, but wanted any experiences you've had with warranty work?

Also, I'm thinking of sending it in after the holidays as I know they are probably going to take time off.

My very recent experience was excellent.

Last month I sent a Swiss Champion I received (used) in 1992 to the Monroe, CT service center. Included $5 for return shipping. Asked for correction of bent tools, replacement of missing parts, and removal of rust/spa treatment. Explained knife had sentimental value and did not want logo scale replaced. Three weeks later the knife was returned to me correct, clean, and rust free. Non-logo scale was replaced and old scale returned. Missing scissors spring was replaced. Missing tweezers were replaced and a spare returned. Toothpick replaced. Corkscrew replaced which now closes properly. Not sure what else was done. Three weeks and five bucks. I couldn't be more happy. Go for it.

I have had very good service from them both times I have sent knives in for repairs over the years and never been charged for any of them.

I didn't even think about the logo, mine is so rubbed off from being in my pocket so much. If they could repaint it that would look pretty slick.

Don't hesitate to send any SAK to Connecticut. The price is right, and the service is suberb

I sent in my Boy Scout Sentry model that had a bent tip from my younger days. they sharpened out the blade which was OK, but they replaced one of the scales on the knife - the old boy scout symbol was replaced by some new looking design. I was really disappointed in that as the knife had nostalgic value. If I knew such a thing would happen I would have mentioned to them not to touch it.

Yes, on the service sheet you should have written , "knife has sentimental value, do not replace logo scale" or words to that effect. Their knife service center webpage even states such.

Yep I should have, but given that there was nothing wrong with the scale I would never have thought they would even have to remove it.
