Any 'Extrema Ratio' enthusiasts?

A little too choady for me.

Not a fan of Extrema Ratio in the slightest. Their designs generally seem downright ridiculous to me. I have to say that I like the lines of most of their daggers, but imho daggers are pretty impractical by design.

I played with several yesterday at a knife event.
The ones I liked most were the smallest ones.

Not really, I got a new MF0 some time ago but don't really like it.
(( rules violation ))

The dagger posted earlier looks decent, but the rest of the folders looked like crap, especially with the enormous 58 HRC printed on the blades. I've never been interested in their knives: IMO most of them are downright ugly. Spydies are beautiful in comparison. :D

Extrema Ratio's are like Lambo's. They both come from Italy, some people love them some people hate, everyone has a solid opinion about them in either you like or dislike. I have never chopped with the one I currently have up for trade so I can't speak for the strength of the knife but they are sharpened prybars. Mine also has superb fit and finish and something other companies could really learn from A BADASS SHEATH!!! Only reason it's up on the block is because I like Bussekin.

Are they pricey? No more pricey than a Strider or a Busse and there definitely in that Ballfield.

I own four, MPC, fulcrum folder, BF1, and heck i cant even think of what the little flipper one is called. thats when you know you have too many knives, when you forget their names!

they are different, which is why i got them. very nice fit and finish, no problems with the steel, the MPC was my EDC for just under two years. its a true beast of a knife.

Not my style.
Nice to see you here, wouter. I think you might enjoy the crowd here better than 'the other place'.

I have a RAO, and I like it a lot.
Yesterday I finally had the chance to handle a Nemesis. I always liked its looks on pictures, but I found it unbalanced in IRL. I certainly love the way it feels, but its looks were enough to turn me off.
None of the other ER's do anything for me, so it's just the RAO for me.

bad quality, bad steel poor performance and hard to sharpen.
You make me laugh. N690 is one of the easiest steel types to sharpen by hand.

Marketing rules here
Where on earth does marketing NOT rule?

for me ZT, kershaw and others (of those I have and have used) are much better, overall, maybe not ninja super marketing kool...
I own several brands also. ZT is not that different from ER. More rounded shapes, but just as Militatry like ER. Different style, thats all. The S30V gets blund just as easy when its hard used. The blades are thinner so they cut easier, thats the advantage of ZT.

VERY expensive for what they really are, even for an italian knife
True, serious money!! But the overrated prices go for several brands!

Its all just a matter of taste and what you see and find in a knife :D
Cheers

I can't afford one but the Extrema Ratio Shrapnel is a serious beauty!
I's good to see some users in the pics above.

I really like the ultramarine, but couldn't find a good price anywhere.

Yep, same here, I thinks its a great knife to get as a gift.

And as far as their folders go, well I've been itching to go on the for trade forums and trade at a loss for one lately. Both my ZT's, the Benchmade and more. If only I wasn't too lazy.

How are they when compared to strider folders? Many people here would go for strider but I always liked unusual things and seeing how both companies are trying to fill the same nitch, I'm wondering...
Are they of similar quality?

Its a shame theyr'e so tragically ugly! :) their folders at least (not a one) there are a few jems in their fixed blade line up though! Ultramarine is just a very nice looking blade!
