Any fans of Mora knives?

I have a few. My favourite is the Mora Classic #2. I have had, and have, a lot of knives and the handle of said knife is the most comfortable of any knife I've ever tried during hard force use.

There are five Moras on my shelf, and another with a six-inch Sandvik blade that has become our go-to knife in the kitchen. I think the rubber-handled Companions handle a little better, but I find the wood handles really appealing. My favorite is the 612, not for the guard, which is not really necessary, but because it was my first Mora. The bicycle tube is there to cover some dog-bite damage.

I second the motion to try Marttiinis as an alternate. They cost a little more, come at least as sharp as the Moras, and offer a different look. You might also look at Hultafors, who offer a really heavy-duty beater knife in the same price range, well under twenty bucks.

Yes. I own several.... kinda like bic lighters. Useful for many tasks in my travels and camping.

I have two Companions (one in carbon steel and the other stainless), and I love them. I use them frequently when fishing or working in the yard or garden. I tend to find excuses to use mine. Oh, and I've been planning to purchase a HD version pretty soon.

They are inexpensive and work well.

Yeah, I'm a fan..... (some past pics)

I got all of those old Moras except any that are shown with plastic/rubber handles or sheaths. I just don't like plastic/rubber in my knife handles or sheaths. Just a traditionalist I guess. The old ones are top notch blades; easilly restored and just simple great knives.

For the rock bottom price they ask, it's a no brainier. That Scandi steel takes an awesome edge. Sure you will sharpen more often, but that's not really an issue. I enjoy sharpening.

I'm a huge fan of them. I have a Companion in every glove box of each of our cars in the family, as well as in break down bags, go bags, etc... Even keep a blue handled one in the drawer of my desk at work because it's innocuous looking and serves well for food prep.
I sharpen my knives with the KO-WorkSharp, and with a 15DPS convex edge, it'll shave a nice clean stripe all the way down the back of my arm from elbow to wrist, while keeping an edge for a while.
I love the Companion Heavy Duty and the Bushcraft as well. They are all just really really well designed knives and perform far far beyond their price range.

I got 3 and love them. I am debating on buying a set of them or Opinels #8 's for Steak knives. They just cut.

For dedicated food use, I'd always take a fixed blade over a folder for ease of cleaning and more importantly, the ability to thoroughly clean.
I think Moras would make some awesome steak knives.

I have about 20 or so in many variations, going back to the Erikssons. So, ya. I keep them primarily as back ups, in bags, or day hikers. My wife has a pink stainless for the kitchen, and she uses it a lot.

SAK guy ... Wow! Really knice collection you have there.

I've got a few Companions, mostly the HD and, as a matter if fact, one of them is permanently affixed to my woods pack.

I reground the blade on an old Marttiini fillet knife for kitchen use. It's the only one my wife will use now.
