I would like to try a friction folder as a light duty summer EDC , any recommendations ? I carry a multitool for the nastier jobs , so the friction folder would be mainly for fine work .

By friction folder you mean a slipjoint or a true friction folder (i.e. no springs at all)?

If you mean a slipjoint. I really like Case's large stockman, Schatt & Morgan (made by Queen) offers some nifty slipjoints with 154CM blades.

Try a Svord knife. It's a classic friction folder with a wooden handle and carbon steel blade.

I would suggest a small, light lockback rather than a "friction folder" or slip joint folder. I really, really, really like the Falkniven TK4.

Here are a few:
Fred Perrin
Mathieu Callejon
Mickael Moing

My Choice would be a Hiroki Ohta or WH Legacy.

the every popular case sodbuster jr. in stainless steel if you're lazy, cm if you don't mind a little work. later, ahgar

TKC you when to Blade what was your experiance playing with the WH Legacy's? Size comparisons?

There are 2 sizes IIRC the 230 is perfect for light office jobs, cartons, envelopes, sandwich etc.

The TK4 is nice too, but its essentially a large U2.

You know, I fully intended to play with them at Blade, but I never did. Sorry.
