Any good "brick & mortars" in/around Cleveland, Ohio?

maybe we need to arrange a little NE Ohio get together for anyone from BF to come by. We've talked about it in the past but never got anything off of the ground.

Just another thumbs up for Cutters Corner. I stopped by today based on the above recommendations. The owner is very knowledgeable about knives. It was cool to be able to handle knives I've only seen on the net, like the Lone Wolf Harsey and Tighe models. It's more expensive than the net, but being able to handle before you buy really is worth some $$ in my opinion.

Dave -- thanks for that report. I'll head out there some time this week or the next for sure.

OOOOOHHHH, OHHHJHHH, YEAH... YAHHHH..... I'll be there.
Please let me know how I can get in touch with you guys.
Maybe we can go out to eat somewhere.
Pirtle, I'm looking forward to finally meet you.
BTW, is it okay to bring part of your collection to show off?
(or trade)
Dang, I don't think I'll be able to make it Friday. But maybe I'll see you Saturday?

dunefan and All --

Checked out Cutter's Corner in Great Northern today.

:)

The gentleman behind the counter, Tony, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Heck, he even restored the edge (chip near the tip) of my SnG for free. We had a good time just chatting.

My first time out there, only bought two bottles of Miltec 1 -- I like to "build relationships -- but more likely than not, all of mu future liner-lock mass-production folders (I tend to favor Spyderco for this) will come from them, despite the higher retail cost as compared to on-line shopping.

Decent extensive selection of low to medium grade goods (Frost Cutlery and other "generics"), with a good variety of mid-high grade productions such as Spyderco, SOG, Buck, Benchmade, etc -- and the odd high-end like William Henry.

Overall, not bad at all!

Hi Guys, Here is the brief list that I'm aware of...

-There is a Gun Shop in Cuyahoga Falls that carries an okay selection of midrange stuff but also had a MT Socom Elite D/A last time I was there. Name escapes me right now but if you want to go then e-mail me and I'll find it for you.

Pro Gun & Supply. I go to the range next door and buy my .22 plinking ammo there. They have a decent selection of Cold Steel and Benchmade along with a few older smei-customs and a few others. There was a Microtech auto there at one point.

If it matters, I live in Stow and take classes at Kent State. I woundn't mind meeting with some of you locals sometime.

EDIT: From here forward I will read the WHOLE thread before replying.

help i need to contact George Koutsopoulos if possible i bought one of his wonderful fighting knives on ebay but when it arrived the blade was bent instead of resharping the tip an easy task at worst i tried to straighten it and broke an 1/8th in piece of the tip off i would prefer to send this knife too George for regrinding however i know he's pretty much retired barring this ideal situation i need the name of a really good regrinder or maker who does repair thanks ralph newton member here at knife forum

Thomas im a registered user here and coincidently am a collector of George Kutsopoulos's work i recently aquired a knife made by George patterned after the randall #!1 fighter the tip is chipped around an eighth of an in and is almost a quarter of an inch wide at the tip i would like to contact mr Koutsopolous or a qualified smith who could handle such a regrind challenge any help would be much appreciated thanks much Ralph Newton

Kames used to have a really great stock of knives, however since the economy slumped, you're better off looking elsewhere. I really hate to say that about the store, because I'm friends with the manager, although they do still carry a decent selection of Spydercos, BM, etc. Good if you're curious, but no longer worth driving out of the way for. Sorry.

Kame's selection seems to be different every time I go there. They tend to carry some of the bigger brands, like Buck, Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw and a couple from Kabar, Ontario etc. A few Wenger SAKs and low-end assortments tend to round out the mix. The older staff members have always been friendly and helpful for me, but the only person who stuck out as knife knowledgeable to me there was a lady in her 30's or so that carried a Benchmade switchback in blue. Prices can be a little high at times (Paid about 55$ for a Delica 4 out the door for instance) but if you're in the area it's worth a look.

I'll have to check out that store in Cuyahoga Falls this spring. I hear they have a nice skatepark up there, so I could kill two birds with one stone. :)

A Northeastern Ohio meet would be nice. The only thing I tend to hear when I show people my knives here is either "You could really f*ck someone up with that," or "Why do you carry a knife?"
