So i have a few busse knives but have yet to hold them in my greedy little hands due to the ambiguous regulations of customs so I thought i would appeal to the creative side of all you hogs and hoggetts .
It seems all i need is a good excuse to have knives from over three inch blades. I was thinking i would just say they are my kitchen knives but i can see where a cgfbm may be a little hard to accept as such . Camping tool doesn't seem to reach into their dim minds either. So , any ideas?

Be very careful, falsifying customs documents is always a bad idea and at least in the US opens you up to seizure of the item and some really stiff penalties, to include criminal prosecution under the right circumstances.

Woodcraft, camping, survival, hunting, collecting, investment, fetish... Take your pick! :D

for the life of me I couldnt figure out what
the question was!
I was thinking "excuse to buy a Busse Custom Shop" knife.
duhhhhh

Anyway, the only one Ive seen mention was I think Dingy
from China who used "camping tools"

Kitchen cutlery.

If they want to confiscate them, there are a lot of excuses for them to take them.

Both times I've shipped overseas I've used camping equipment with no problems.

camping tools or decorative metal artwork

you have to check your laws but - ususally- the size limit is refering to what you can carry, not to what you own. so when you go to customs make sure you take a lockable container with you to place the knives inside. that way you transport them back to your own property.

The best thing is to get some intel from those who have been successful already. Hopefully, our other Chinese members will see this and offer good advice on how to legally export to them :)

Other than that, scour the laws and ask questions...
Is there a size limit? Any exceptions to this?
Are there restrictions on these types of goods imported from the USA?
Do some methods of shipping have better chances through Customs/ Do some shipping companies have better relations with China's government? (FedEx over USPS for example)

I see that there seems to be a limit on the value of personal items an individual or family can import each year. And although arms, ammunition and weapons are on the prohibited list, knives are not actually named specifically either as being a weapon or as an exception...

Country Conditions for Mailing — China (USPS website)

I do know that a certain Chinese member ordered a SRKW M9 LE and he was denied on it passing through. Customs did allow him to send it back here and I believe he got his money back by refund, and he even got to hold it briefly at Customs before shipping back, but they wouldn't clear it. Of course it looks like a fighter style knife...

+ 2 3 letter rule

Could you explain this further, please? :)

I would imagine it refers to the minimum number of characters it takes to make a successful post.......But all I know is that I know nothing

...And here I thought it had something to do with the repetition of a single letter in a package's item description. :o LOL...guess I need more coffee! :D
