Any good excuses for customs?

I got quite a few camping tools in the last months. Never a problem with the folks at the customs office, and I had to get them personally. Each one of them.
Then again, I am not in China.

I have sent a few things to Canada and Germany and camping tool always has worked for me but then you have a problem with the value part who has multiple hundred dollar camping tool(other than us). I think that might be a problem but collectible might work at least then the value wouldn`t make them think something was "funny" .

but then you have a problem with the value part

As far as the US is concerned you can describe a knife many ways without being viewed as falsifying the customs form, but the wheels come off when you place a value on the item that is knowingly false. Before you go down that road I suggest a reading of USC Title 19.

The laws here are extremely arbitrary and intentially written as vague as possible .
I have looked up the knife laws well my lawyer has and he says there is nothing about it that needs apply to me. But don't forget last couple of years some wack jobs around the country decided to visit elementary schools with fruit knives and kill some children ever since then there has been a knee jerk reaction against all knives . During the world expo stores in shanghai were not even allowed to sell any knives what so ever no pairing knives etc.

The only option for me is to bribe customs with some cigg and booze maybe a hooker who knows.
Actually a mate is sorting it out for me with a custom official he already owns.

Next time i order knives i will just have them smuggled from hong kong faster and less trouble . Oh and who said anything about falsifing documents. . ? Only a real moron would do that unless one was shipping something such as drugs i mean who is going to declare five kilos of Afgans finest to Johnny lawman.

Camping, hiking, to split logs for a fire or just about any wood-work or horticulture...

You would be surprised about falsifying documents; not for drugs; but I have been asked if I would describe the item as not-a-knife and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
