Any good gent's folders?

I can't understand why any boss would deserve a present, unless one is abject:D

But, a very decent present for a deserving friend or member of the family who would appreciate an aesthetic gent's folder would be a MOKI lockback in jigged bone, red or amber.Superb fit&finish and not enormously expensive either.Something that will last and will be valued though:thumbup:

Kershaw Whiskey Gap. It's one of my favorites, I carry it all the time.

Thanks for all the replies so far. Unfortunately my budget is $150 max, so knives like the mnandi or a william henry are out. I'm kind of leaning towards the Mcusta right now (beautiful knives, makes me want one myself :D), but theres also the BM 770. It seems to be just as nice, but I can't find any sites that stocks them since they were discontinued.

Benchmade Nagara? Blue anodized Ti and some fancier hardware.

A Spyderco caly 3 ZDP / carbon fiber if you like think carbon fiber looks high end. Plus it's got some great steel that gets scary sharp and should hold it for a good long time (on sale for $107).

Something with a damascus blade like a case slip joint or one of the kershaw models like a skyline. If its carbon damascus a non knife nut might not take the appropriate care of the blade and it could end up a rusty mess.

Just some ideas because as you can see everyone has their idea of a gentleman folder.

I like:

  • Lone Wolf Paul Presto in Ivory Micarta for $120
  • Spyderco Kiwi in Mother of Pearl & Abalone for about the same
  • CRK Mnandi in your choice of wood inlays for $350

I sold the first two and kept #3.

I'd say Mnandi all the way if it's not out of your price range. One of these days when I get THE Seb I'm content with, I'm gonna pick up a Mnandi to accompany it.

If it's for your boss, will he be be looking at it, using or putting in the drawer?

I'm going to suggest a Nemesis Imp. You don't hear much about them but I recently picked one up on a trip to Seattle and it is an outstanding little folder. 2 1/4" VG-10 blade, super fit and finish, and the stabilized black palm scales are gorgeous. ($99 bucks at several places on the net)
